Right off the bat, this is NOT a glitch harrasment blog. this is a criticism blog, meaning we are criticizing the actions of glitch, their works, and people working for it. not just saying ‘beat glitch employees’ or ‘kill gooseworx.’ asks like that will be deleted. that is harassment. however, you are allowed to say you don’t like glitch.

any criticisms regarding glitch or ANY of their works are allowed. please don’t send asks if they’re going to be in support of glitch.

and this blog is heavily opinionated, you don’t have to agree with anything here, but don’t be a dick.

don’t send any asks that are targeting people like gooseworx for being trans, or their shows for lgbt rep. you will be blocked. and do not be racist.

It feels like they think they’re one of those niche indie shows where a small group of queer fans like it and can understand boymoding, and being closeted, and all the trans stuff, but really it’s a huge franchise where a lot of fans are straight and cis, as well as fans who have never been exposed to queer themes. You can’t expect them to get all of those themes if they have 0 exposure. Like if her being trans wasn’t going to be fully canon and they didn’t have the bow scene, I’d probably excuse it because it’d be something for the queer fans. But they did add the bow scene, and really all that did was make it canon to queer people and headcanon to cis people who dont understand all the foreshadowing and shit that was put into it, causing a big community discourse on canonicity, and I just feel because of that they should have just been clearer on jax being trans

I feel like no one is pointing out how weird this is enough. Like, you change an entire character because of the person you cast was so sweet and you just couldn't push for that person to be angry? It feels like typecasting sort of, or just not really understanding the acting part of voice acting. Why would you shoot yourself in the foot with your creative choice here?? I'd imagine a good project would push an actor to become the character, not be written around the actor when it comes at the cost of characterization for the main character. A baffling creative choice.

wwhat am i even reading man. ‘yeahhh lizzie was too nice so i made pomni nice too.’ you don’t change a character because of the voice actor?? that’s fucking stupid??? what???

when a va doesn’t fit a character, you ask them to adjust their voice or switch their role (for example stephanie beatriz in encanto; her voice didnt fit luisa, so she was cast as mirabel. they didnt fucking rewrite luisa).

also this is just some bad stereotyping on goose’s part. ‘yeah she’s nice, she can’t ever be an angry person!!’ goose you’re the head writer you’re supposed to understand nuance.

but no this is just a reeeealy bad choice on goose’s part that i’m actually upset about because i wouldve LOVED that for pomni’s character. i wish she was more than just a nice girl or a therapist. but no, the voice actor (whos job is to have a range of voices) she just couldnt see being angry (va isnt the character btw).

I just don't see why she couldn't cut the cast down by removing or combining characters. She didn't have to have a main cast of 7.

Indie creators don't have the resources that bigger studios do. If you can't handle the workload that you've given yourself, then it's on you to manage the project better. Kill your darlings if you have to.

main cast of 7 was just WAY too big for the story goose wanted. it was impossible for them all to get the love they deserved.

I try to change the subject or tell them that I dont want to discuss the show because of the racist stuff ive heard, but some of them are too obsessed and it makes it difficult to switch topics without TADC being brought up later 💔

100%, in fact i’ve experienced asian to black racism a lot. a lot of my old posts implied or said they were white, though, and i want to make sure people didn’t think they’re white.

hb made it seem like a silly show where demons kill humans and deal with their freaky boss, became the stolitz show

tadc made it seem like a wacky show where the characters went on adventures while having mental crises, became the jax show

both have a really abusive character who gets excused and woobified

jax, who had all her actions basically forgiven for being trans

stolas who is a horrible exploitative dipshit who gets woobified to ‘just a boyfailure who knows nothing’

both have a very misogynistic woman running the show (hah.)

neither have particularly awesome wordbuilding

like yeah being trans can cause you to shut people off but you’re telling me that that one incident led you to become that bad??? with you having not being aggressive towards your friends prior??
