when i was at my first university, trying to get accommodations for my ADHD, they just kept asking me what accommodations i wanted, and refused to answer when i would ask what was available to me. how the Hell am i supposed to know what i can have? what’s available???? also, i don’t know!!!! i’m an adhd sufferer, not a fucking disability expert for the fucking college, unlike you, DISABILITY EXPERT WHO WORKS FOR THE COLLEGE.

but because the us is OBSESSED with making sure no one gets anything “”for free””, she literally would not tell me what my options were until i broke down in tears and asked her why she was refusing to help me. and then she did a big sigh, like i was fucking up her entire career by *checks notes* asking the disability center in my university to help me, a disabled student

at the second uni i went to, i tried to explain to a dean that i was literally two gen eds that had nothing to do with my degree away from graduating and that i was burnt out and broke and exhausted and suicidal and i just needed to be able to finish my degree without the gen eds. and this. fucking. guy. looked me right in my face and said in the most patronizing tone he could muster “if you can’t handle it, then maybe college just isn’t for you.” keep in mind that up until that semester, i had been an honor student who made Dean’s List every semester and didn’t get below Bs. if it hadn’t been for my mental breakdown, i would have graduated cum laude, maybe even summa cum laude.

From my experience working in both academic and public libraries, many libraries are use it or lose it funding-- I have to say this because a lot of patrons feel guilty for how much they use the library and how often they're using it funny enough, but the worst thing you can do for libraries is not try out new features and not use what's already given to you as much as possible.

2) boycotting things made in Russia and by russians like movies, books, video games, etc. any money they get can go to their army that will kill ukrainians and their other neighbors. just yesterday movie Anora with a russian man in main role who supports Russia in this war got 5 fucking Oscars?? any shit like this not only gives Russia money to continue this war but is also trying to cover horrible things they do. don't let Russia succeed in anything until they succeed in admitting and stopping their crimes

Campaign for Palestinian Poet and Songwriter Yaser Hamad

Hello All,

My friend @mariampoetry wanted to host a donation campaign for Yaser Hamad!

Yaser is a Rafah native and a prolific poet, writing songs for big name Palestinians singers like Muhammad Assaf (who sang the iconic song, "Dammi Falastini")! Here's a song he wrote for Assaf called "Ya Banat Bladna," which praises the girls and women of Palestine and their steadfastness.

Yaser's fiance was killed early on in the genocide and now he lives in a tent with his two daughters. Within the coming week by Sunday April 6th, we hope to raise $1000 USD to send to Yaser's family.

For those who are not aware, Mariam, the organizer, is a dear friend of mine in real life and a renowned Palestinian poet herself. She has been doing these donation campaigns to raise money for various friends of hers in Gaza, focusing on highlighting artists and their amazing talent. She has successfully sent money to multiple Palestinian artists through these campaign drives and hopes that everyone would be willing to help out with another campaign.

In light of the recent earthquake, my friend has set up emergency art commissions to support those affected back in Myanmar

On March 28, 2025, a powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck central Myanmar, causing widespread devastation. The quake resulted in extensive damage, with over 2,700 deaths and more than 4,500 injuries reported. Rescue operations have been challenging due to damaged infrastructure and ongoing civil conflict, complicating aid delivery and relief efforts. The situation is further exacerbated by shortages of essential resources such as food, medical supplies, and shelter, leaving many survivors in dire need.

In addition to the natural disaster, the people of Myanmar continue to suffer under the brutality of the military, which has hindered humanitarian efforts and worsened the crisis. Civilians are struggling not only against the aftermath of the earthquake but also against systemic violence and oppression.

In response to this crisis, I am offering emergency art commissions to raise funds for relief efforts. All proceeds will be donated to organizations providing aid to those affected by the earthquake in Myanmar. By commissioning artwork, you can contribute directly to the support and recovery of impacted communities.

This earthquake is the first of its kind to take place in Myanmar in 71 years. A majority of buildings in Mandalay have sustained some form of damage, while landmarks such as the Old Sagaing Bridge and the entrances to the Mandalay moat were destroyed. The damage is rampant, with the earthquake being felt in Bago, Magway, Mandalay, Sagaing, Yangon Regions and Shan State, and Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory. While the amount of human casualty and injured persons is not known yet, the scale of destruction caused by the earthquake is unimaginable. Multiple important roads leading to cities, train tracks, and airports have all been damaged.

Without an able government to provide support, this situation will most likely only be in the hands of civilians to find a solution. The military junta, while asking for help from the international community, do not have the mechanisms to carry out relief efforts nationwide.
