There's loads of things I'd love to ask, but what I've been wondering the most is about the picture of the boy and the unicorn foal. His clothing seems to be Yedyzir's spikey design, so it could be a young prince Etho (Lizzie and Joel, who are villagers, have a lot less frill to their clothes in your picture collection, and a drawing from 2023 shows Etho riding one).
How significant is it that the foal is a unicorn? How special are those? They don't seem to be exclusive to Yedyzir terrain, seeing as Bdubs' Qaterek armour ultimately uses them as iconography, but regular horses exist too. And then there's Scar riding one with a horn that looks more like an antler (?) in the earlier design where he has a dragon aura. Then again, you've mentioned that you've played around with adding magic but ultimately scrapped that part of the story, so I'm wary of reading too much into the older designs.
Also, is this a good spot to mention that your whole AU looks absolutely stunning and that the details and expressions do so much for the storytelling? My favourite bit is where Etho goes "Do you remember that one time where you wanted me to die in prison all alone?" and Bdubs is not having it. Their expressions and Bdubs' words being obstructed by his physical hands on his ears is so cool, and I can formally hear the melody of their speech because yes, they would say that. And then the scene they're referring to is right next to this one, in all it's bleakness, and now that they've reunited they will joke about it. It's so good.

yes, you're right, this is lil Etho on that art :] there's a lot of symbolic stuff that unites Etho and Yedyzir with unicorns, i want to show it more in my future arts^^
unicorns are a big deal for Yedyzir. they live on the territories of the kingdom and are a national animal there. when i will design coat of arms for kingdoms unicorn will 100% be featured on Yedyzir's one. only members of royal family and people that are close to them are alowed to ride unicorns, others ride regular horses. as was mentioned, i removed all magic, so unicorns in this universe are basically just horses with horns (for sexual selection and combat)
about Bdubs' armor. design in the middle features pegasus, which is not an animal that exists in this world. it's kind of a combination of bird wings (Qaterek is full of different bird species due to territories they live on. they love em birbs) and regular horse (Qaterek is big on breeding horses for various jobs, their horse breeds are the best). later, when Bdubs realized he's not fighting against Yedyzir on the side of Qaterek but for Qaterek as well as Yedyzir, he decided to add some of the features to resemble Yedyzir. unicorn horn and stars made out of lightly colored metal that Yedyzir is using for their armor (Etho's armor has similar meaning)
about that Scar sketch. he supposed to have vex-like magic, but that got removed obviously. he's one of the closest to royals knights, so he has a unicorn! i still need to design horsies/unicorns for all characters, so idk if that fun looking horn will stay, but i quite like it!! and yeah, older arts are not relevant anymore, anything i posted before may 2026 is just pictures with almost no meaning now🙏
