wait I have one more story. there's a group of anti-abortion protesters who often set up by the Ethiopian cafe I hang out in, and when I was waiting to cross one of them held up an aborted fetus sign and said "how does this make you feel?" and I said "hungry", and then I was so satisfied by my own cleverness that I missed the lights and stepped off the sidewalk into oncoming traffic
I will get my spark back no matter how long it takes
I sometimes forget that the reason I have my anons turn off is because my messages alone contain such hits and bangers as someone telling me to kill myself for wishing for liberation for the Russian people (from Putin), this one freelance animator who worked on that Disney frog show (I think? It's really unclear) calling me a Nazi/telling me to die for suggesting that maybe not every Palestinian fundraiser is legitimate, someone showing me hog for my Suez Canal fanfiction, and that one weird ass man that ai generated video for a random morphing Chihuahua that wasn't even the right color or texture to threaten my dog because I said Elon musk is cringe.
Truly a website, Tumblr is.
The most important thing you can do today, as a United States citizen, is ignore whatever the fuck is going on on the white house lawn
Unless we get some lenin laying in Moscow shit you gotta remember that so much as a peek in or a mention of what's going on by name adds to this man's ego

There are lots of reasons why fandom is "quieter" now than it used to be. Some theories are more compelling to me than others, and they all have a different scale of impact. We'll never know for sure, of course, but I like to think about it. Thus, this poll.
Of the list below, which reason do you find most compelling or do you think had the biggest impact?
New entrants to fandom don't know the old ways
fandom olds didn't teach the newcomers how to fandom
covid/surge in fandom due to quarantine and lockdowns
"antis" and other harassment campaigns against creators
creators posting complaints about comments (people worry about commenting wrong)
rise of discord popularity - fandom is walled off from each other
tumblr porn ban and other reasons people left the site
capitalism turning fandom into a passive "view and move on" commodity
rules from social media impacting fan culture (eg. don't comment on old posts)
general state of the world / burnout
social anxieties in an increasingly complex online culture
"surveillance state" worries and not wanting to be perceived
This is an incomplete list, so if your most compelling reason isn't listed, feel free to add it in the notes.
Can I add "the influx of bots and fabricated trends by marketing departments making general fan spaces more uncomfortable"
