I’m glad that OP:
1) Figured this out.
2) Shared so others can learn from their mistake.
How it feels to imagine a female character's voice as deep when you read the source and then watch an adaptation that gives her some Elmo ass voice
oh man the painting on this drawing is insa- fuck do you mean #minecraft build
the specific build in question btw
I looked up some of the artist's other builds and they're all just absolutely incredible
As a reminder, July is disability pride month! This pride month, I want us to especially think of:
Those with long-term/worsened disabilities because of their parents telling them to just work through it/get over it/"it's not that bad"
Those with disabilities stemming from childhood abuse
Those who know that they're disabled or suspect such, but can't get it diagnosed or checked out because of their parents/guardians disapproving
Those who know/suspect that they're disabled, but won't be diagnosed or checked out because they're "too young"
Those who struggle in or had to drop out of the harsh and mostly unaccommodating school system because of their disability or disabilities
Those who were lied to or not told they were disabled growing up so they could be raised "normal"
Those who have their privacy and autonomy violated as a combination of being disabled and being a child, as both of those groups are seen as not deserving their autonomy
Those who are disabled or had their disability (or disabilities) worsened because of the school system pushing them too far
Those who feel that they can never be one of the "normal" kids and that they'll always be isolated because of their disability or disabilities
Disabled folks who don't know or didn't know much about their disability as a kid because doctors would only explain to the parents/caretakers and no one bothered to talk to you
All disabled children having to deal with the intersectuality of being oppressed by both ableism and adultism.
Happy disability pride month and please start treating children and disabled people with basic respect and dignity!! They are autonomous beings! Act like it!
sources are saying ohhhhhhhhh brother

⚠️ A single, distant "awawa!" echoes from the hills...
here are some more cats 🍓
She turned her face away and said, “Senior… please put something on.” “Huh?” Qiu Congxue looked down at her body which was as full and curvaceous as Shu Yanyan’s, and didn’t see anything wrong with it. She had gotten used to walking here and there as a skeleton, and long since forgotten what it was like to have a flesh body.
Anyway I love my skeleton wife, even when she's been un-skeletoned. She's possibly the most insane character in this novel. Which is. It's saying something.
[bird consoling his other bird friend] yeah don't worry man that guy can't kill both of us. he only has one stone
Has either of your parents ever accidentally called you/your siblings the wrong name? (someone else's name, like other sibling, pet, etc)
Yes, at least once
No, but I've seen it happen to someone else
No, never
I don't have pets/siblings/parents/hair
I forgot to clarify that this excludes deanaming you if you've changed your name. I specifically meant the "brain offers the wrong word" kind of accidental name mix-up.
This was prompted by me and my boyfriend discussing handedness and being able to tell apart left and right. And me, being ambidextrous, was baffled by how do people with an obligate dominant hand mix up which side is the one with their Writing Hand and which one isn't?? And my boyfriend pointed out that I go "turn left - no I mean right" so much when giving directions that I have lost my navigator privileges.
I argued that mixing up the words isn't the same thing as mixing up the directions. Like if your mom accidentally called you the dog's name doesn't mean that she literally can't tell you apart from the dog. And he looked at me like this
Because evidently not only has this never happened to him, he has never heard of this being a thing. And he was so confident in this that I had to double-check that I'm not the only person this has ever happened to.
My grandmother had four boys, and of course they all had friends, so her house was always full of small boys. So she took to calling them all Sam, because none of them were named Sam, and otherwise it would absolutely be the "John—Dave—Mark—" running down the list problem.
When my Grandma called me, it was "[Grandma's sister M]--[Grandma's sister P]--[Grandma's sister C]--[Grandma's daughter]--[Me]"
I have two brothers. Everyone in the family regularly mixes up their names.
I have five siblings and we've had a multitude of animals around my whole life so this was a very common scenario for us.
I also at one point in my childhood was used to responding to my mom's name because I look a lot like her and 2-10 year old me was basically just a photocopy of 2-10 year old her so my grandad (my grandparents lived with us for most of my life until they died in the past decade) called me by her name before my own frequently.
Not because he couldn't tell us apart, or was confused, but because he saw a small, red-headed gremlin wandering around and muscle memory kicked in.

Like father like son

So, I’ve been pulled over a few times in my life. Not many, but a few. And I’ve also been in a couple of cars that got pulled over. And let me tell you, if you were actually doing something wrong, the officer doesn’t make any small talk, just straight into “I clocked you doing 70 in a 55.” The only time I’ve ever gotten the “do you know why I pulled you over?” was the time when I wasn’t doing anything wrong, and I got let go even though he insisted to the end that I was doing 87 in a 70 (white privilege at work).
“Do you know why I pulled you over?” is a trap. It means there’s a good chance the officer doesn’t actually have a good reason to ticket you, and is trying to get you to waive your 5th Amendment rights and incriminate yourself. If you make a guess, that’s a confession of guilt.
But there’s another trap, that I’ve heard of but haven’t yet experienced. It’s “do you know how fast you were going?” With that one, they’re hoping you’ll say no, because then they can name whatever speed they want – you just said you didn’t know how fast you were going, if you deny the speed they name then you’re lying to them.
Oh, I’ve had that one. Go with “yes.” Don’t give them a number, just say “Yes.” Then they still have to offer a number and you can deny it without contradicting yourself. They could just ask you, at that point, but that’s suspiciously similar to saying they don’t know, and they tend to avoid doing that.

if you scroll past this just because it doesn’t affect you personally, i see you.
Also, you can always go to court and contest a ticket, and a lot of times you’ll win. Or if the cop thinks you’ll win they won’t even show up and you’ll win by default.
They like to target out of state plates because anyone who would be majorly inconvenienced by a court date two months away is a lot more likely to just pay it.
