If there is a note or comments section on their donation page please do let them know that you would want your money to go to their Caribbean relief efforts. Houston and Florida have the US government backing them in whatever they will need but these islands will have very little except for these charities to fall back if they have any hope of rebuilding what seems to be entire countries in some cases. For the people who lost everything even a few bucks will go a long way.

Once a BACA child, always a BACA child. In Florida, there’s 100% rate for identifying the perp based on the child’s testimony. Why? The tricky part comes in defining what exactly is meant by “use.” Most people who use computers don’t know how to build software. Does that mean they’re digitally illiterate?

For some, it does. It’s become commonplace to argue that everyone is better off learning at least basic programming skills—that coding itself is the new, necessary literacy. We’ve seen online courses, games, new programming languages, and even children’s books pushing kids and their parents in this direction.

But “learning to code” is an exceedingly broad concept, and one which without more specifics risks oversimplifying conversations about what digital literacy really means. And how digital literacy is defined is important. This isn’t just about filling Silicon Valley jobs. It’s about educators, policy makers, and parents understanding how to give the rising generations of digital natives the tools they need to define the future of technology for themselves.

1)   Previewing :   Discuss with your partner what you know about today’s topic, and then socialize with the rest of the participants and with the researcher. What did you learn before reading the article on your mobile application while you were discussing it with your partners? Record your answer on an audio or a video and upload it to the platform using the app tumblr.Work in pairs.

2) Contextualizing : Determine what is the socio-historical context of the article? Time, location, social context, cultural, political and economic implications. Write and develop these characteristics in bullet points in the platform, use the icon of text in the app tumblr. Work in pairs.

3)      Reflecting on challenges to your beliefs and values :Reflect on the main ideas of the article and how can this article can benefit or affect your life?  Write something in a piece of paper then record  a video or audio and upload it to the platform using the app tumblr. Individual work.

4)       Evaluating an article : Write  (3 or 4 lines ) about how do you feel about the article and ,upload a meme about to the platform, discuss it with the rest of the participants and the researcher if you accept or refuse the point of view made by an author. Individual work

5)     Iconography representation : Reflect and analyze what kind ideologies, conceptions and social relations of power are embedded into this digital text.   You can develop this activity outlining ideas in a sheet of paper and try to express yourself drawing something related with these relations of power. Take a picture and upload it to the platform using tumble app. Work individually.
