eva stratt as humanity's biggest lovergirl. she cries at nature documentaries. she devotes herself to studying the cultures she's saved, she mourns that she can't join in on their dances and festivals. (she was never much of a dancer anyway, but she wishes she had the chance to try.) she advocates fiercely for human rights causes from her jail cell, writes letters to political leaders she's worked with just to shame them for denying little girls an education or sending little boys off to wars. just to prove that it was all worth it.

The Odyssey but retold as a low-stakes modern adventure of one guy out with his girlfriend leaving the bar with his buddies to do just one (1) simple thing real quick, it'll take like 15 minutes tops, he'll be right back, but then some bullshit happens and the trip keeps getting more complicated as more bullshit keeps happening while he just tries to get back to the bar because he promised his girlfriend that he'd get back and he knows that she's still there because she told him she'd wait there.

His girlfriend had been fending off the 5 drunk guys for most of the evening by explaining that even if she was going to ditch her boyfriend, she can't possibly leave without finishing her beer, which she is keeping perpetually full via careful sleight of hand where she's just pouring it back and forth into and out of the pitcher.

the entire world depends on percy's faith in ppl. he has no reason to defend the enemy demigods, but he does. he sees the kids under the armor. ethan tells him "mercy has no place in this war," and percy grants it anyway. percy has as many reasons to resent the gods as luke and doesn't, bc he sees the human parts of them, the best parts of them. he watches hermes try to save his son, artemis grieve zoe, zeus tell thalia he's proud of her. he knows his dad loved his mama. this is what saves the gods. this is why percy defends olympus. he's loyal to humanity and kindness.

The thing about Sherlock Holmes is that practically every adaptation you can think of has been done in some form. Every scenario, format, medium, it’s all there. He has at least three sisters, in varying levels of evilness. He’s been young, he’s been old, he’s been gay, straight, and aro/ace. He’s been Victorian, he’s been modern, he’s been a doctor, an asshole, a woman, a gnome. He’s been frozen in ice a la Steve Rogers and reanimated in the 21st century. He’s fallen off cliffs and in love. He’s thwarted every criminal known to man. He’s done quite literally everything there is to be done and yet there’s always, always more to write.

So apparently, over the summer, Quibi (the shortest-lasting streaming service ever lmao) did a quarantine project called “Home Movie: The Princess Bride” where a bunch of celebrities recreated The Princess Bride in tiny chunks at home.

imagining grace in his first year of teaching kind of automatically introducing himself as dr. ryland grace bc that's what he's used to. and the kids are like O_O dr? and somebody inevitably googles him and finds a video of his final crashout. and because 13 year olds are little menaces, when he inevitably snaps at the class to sit down and do their work at some point (his classroom management skills need time to develop okay) somebody puts on a little pouty face and goes "dr. grace? you don't.....you don't think i'm a.....a staggering waste of carbon......do you?" and grace's life flashes before his eyes.

I like how Samira trusts Frank so seamlessly. She is the other doctor next to Mel who just gets with the program. If he’s back it means he’s done the necessary work, so he’s fine unless he tells her otherwise. “Langdon can you take this?” No handover, no context, just plz help I need you, and he’s right there taking over smoothly.
