i’m going to be really honest with you guys i think the tendency to read the absolute worst possible intentions into every action you don’t agree with is getting too automatic and it’s eating you from the inside out

i think a lot of the people who say that warning posts are useless drama-starters that only exist to further harass marginalized/vulnerable people would have more plausible deniability if those type of posts didnt spring up literally every single time a black user pointed out that a white user is racist

and also if the Black user didn't proceed to get racist harassment from the white users followers for pointing out said racism

a small reminder with all the "trans womens blogs getting deleted is Literally social murder" going on that white trans women harassed and mass reported a Black trans womans blog that she used for fundraising to the point of termination all because the Black trans woman said she didn't rock with pedophiles and racists.

every “hand made boxers and briefs for transmasc and nonbinary fxlk” subscription box is $80 and everything is polyester and the exact same as regular boxers at like walmart but have a ⚧️ emoji sewed into the side like a cutie mark and the company is like if u donate 25 extra dollars to us with your purchase we will donate to jellyqueens and make a hugggge important impact on the world 🌈 and then jellyqueens is just.. like a small business jam and jelly company with flavors based on different pronouns and gender descriptors (like tme for example) with very obvious like weird assigning of bioessentialist presentation to fruits for the jellies like “amabs” are blueberries and kiwi and “afab” are cherrys and watermelon and the jellies aren’t even good and actually are lying about being gluten free and also get moldy very fast bc they aren’t using preservatives but they still only deduct -$3 from the original price when they do pop up shops in brooklyn while selling them and the impact on the world mentioned by the boxer company is just to reduce jellyqueens pass due bills bc they keep getting fined for avoiding inspection of their kitchen (its in their apartment but they own five cats and let them stay on the counter while chopping and cooking the fruit for the jelly) and also they take a extra $5 dollars from you as a “service charge” on the boxer companies website because the ceo is using that money from every purchase towards their anime boy maid cafe budget for theirnext trip to japan

maybe this isn’t an interesting observation but I feel like people (myself included) equate the struggle/drudgery of writing with a failure to actually ‘do’ writing, instead of an extremely common and core component of writing. Like there’s an idealised sense that you’re only “doing writing” when you have these eureka moments that lead you to write like 3 pages in a single sitting. When realistically that is going to be a very small portion of your time actually spent writing. Thinking + reading + editing + struggling + zoning out + getting frustrated are all legitimate parts of “doing writing,” but even knowing that isn’t especially helpful. And it’s hard not to feel like a failure when this type of inspiration is absent because writing is idealised as a revelation-based activity. and that revelation can come in waves of course, where you feel like you’re on a roll for a while, but it’s not something that can be infinitely sustained, and the much more mundane reality is that revelation is not a common occurrence

I’m really struggling still my will to live is at an all time low I have no support nothing going on and no motivation I appreciate all the help so far it’s July 16th words of encouragement are also welcome

like, I myself have also never lived on the rez so I can really only speak to the experiences I’ve had shared with me by friends and family—and frankly, there are some things my loved ones just straight up won’t even talk about because it was just that fucking bad. but with the way some folks on this site (in particular, as I’ve mentioned before, white Europeans who seem to have convinced themselves that just because they’re not American means they’re absolved of all the evils of white supremacy and imperialism) talk about Native people living in the imperial core it feels really clear to me that a lot of these people have never even, like, attempted to so much as imagine just how fucking bad the conditions on most reservations are. they’re certainly not doing any research into it. just, like, speaking loudly and confidently about how privileged we are to live in the US without a shred of consideration for the fact that these places were intentionally constructed to have the worst living conditions possible. and like that’s not to say that you can’t have any semblance of a good life there, I’ve also heard so many stories of joy and love and community on the rez and I don’t want to take away from that. but those things are hard fought for through the fucking incredible power and resilience of what it is to be a native person surviving genocide, they happen IN SPITE of all the odds stacked against us. I promise that you as a white person in fucking France or whatever are not worse off than generations of people forced into reservations, with extremely limited access to food and clean water and healthcare. for real.

and of course the justification is always “oh well that’s such a small percentage of the US population though” as if that’s not literally the same logic used by the government to allow these people to continue to suffer, and as though population percentage is supposed to make me just stop caring about my relatives. like that just doesn’t make you look better. and if you’re from a colonizing European country it was your fucking ancestors that created the conditions that led to people suffering today. shut the fuck up!

Great time to start pricing this out by the way, fire season starts… on the summer solstice this year, that’s fun. Signs point to it being a doozy.

As someone that has had to go through this while being very poor, I can say this is VERY effective. While this is a fantastic build, you can even do just a single filter against the fan, or a fan on one side of a cardboard box and a filter on the opposite side.
