Hey, whatâs Winnie the poohâs favorite color?
Yellow
No itâs red because of his shirt
No, itâs yellow because he loves honey
You have no idea what youâre talking about
DID I FUCKING STUTTER?
Things heating up at the Winnie the Pooh fandom
yikes, unfollowing now. was a huge fan of his opera. had no idea he kidnapped the lead soprano and threatened to kill her fiancĂŠ if she didnât marry him
The Red Tour was a global phenomenon, but the biggest leadership lesson arrived backstage in a quiet dressing room. Discover how Taylor Swif
We often think that great leadership requires big spectacle and high stakes, but sometimes it arrives in the smallest details. In 2013, while managing Tegan and Sara, I witnessed an unassuming masterclass from one of the worldâs biggest stars in a quiet dressing room backstage.
Earlier that year, my inbox had lit up with an email I never expected in my wildest dreams: âRobert Allen here. I am writing to extend a personal invitation from Taylor for Tegan and Sara to join her onstage.â I stopped in my tracks and took stock of the moment. This was no ordinary Taylor. This was Taylor Swift.
Providing Opportunity
Swift was in her Red Tour era, and her longtime management colleague Robert Allen was helping to organize a unique show concept she had conceived. Select tour stops would feature a surprise guest with a twist â rather than appearing as a conventional opener, the surprise guest would join Swift on stage during the middle of her set, and together they would sing a song from the guestâs catalogue.
The idea would allow Swift to shine a spotlight on artists and songs she loved, creating mutually reinforcing viral moments. Some shows included a legend like Jennifer Lopez or Carly Simon, other shows featured a rising star. The anticipation became part of the rhythm of the Red Tour, rewarding superfans and transforming a global arena run into a different story each night.
We worked quickly to confirm Tegan and Sara as the surprise guest for an upcoming tour stop at The Staples Center in Los Angeles. Plans were put in motion to sing together on âCloser,â the biggest pop single of Tegan and Saraâs career at the time. Swiftâs band would learn the song, and all Tegan and Sara had to do was be ready to sing it with her in front of 20,000 screaming fans. No pressure.
When we landed in L.A. a few months later, I knew we were ready for a big moment in Tegan and Saraâs career. What I didnât know was that watching Swift work behind the scenes would exemplify a lesson in business leadership that has stuck with me to this day.
Big Venue, Small Touches
Walking through private corridors at The Staples Center upon arrival, we passed the fabled dressing rooms of the NBAâs Lakers and the NHLâs Kings and gazed at championship photographs. As we got situated in our more modest dressing room a few doors down, we glanced at the hospitality rider on a draped table in the corner and noticed something unexpected. Standing beside the standard items â water, wine and snacks â were four Mason jars of strawberry jam and a carefully placed handwritten note from Swift, welcoming Tegan and Sara to the tour.
None of us could believe she had taken the time to personally write a welcome note, but when she sauntered into the room a few minutes later to say hi, we were even more dumbfounded.
âDid you see the jam I made for you?â she excitedly asked Tegan and Sara.
Swift was famous for her ability to create personal connection with her fans, but personally making jam for Tegan and Sara? How could someone who juggled constant media obligations, millions of fans and a relentless touring schedule find the time?
Without missing a beat, she explained that with L.A. being a four-night stand, she was stationary and wanted to unwind at home by making batches of homemade jam. We were the lucky recipients of her ritual, and it was one of the most memorable welcomes we had ever received. Swiftâs famous personal touch in the flesh.

incredible company to be in
sick with a stomach flu and just remembered that taylor performed eras like this wtf
i understand we know next to nothing about the song but judging from what *has* been said and what i know about toy story and what the plot is speculated to be, part of me wonders if taylor drew from the emotions about her masters and trying to get them home with her and knowing that someday they would be herâs again in this song?
do you think they got sarah mclachlan to perform the song in the movie for continuityâs sake and taylor will be in the credits or do we think itâs from another characterâs perspective and will actually be taylor in the movie?
I think it's going to be Taylor in the movie, in the same way that When She Loved Me was a montage from the camera's perspective. I wouldn't be surprised if it interpolates some of the melody or contains lyrical parallels though.
i guess iâve always just thought of sarah as jessieâs singing voice, but you could be right!!
okay do we think the whole yellow thing on her instagram during eras lines up with when she realized she was writing this song?
she said she wrote the song after seeing a screening in the early stages of production and maybe i donât know anything about animation but 18 months ago feels right?
thatâs it. iâm believing this forever.

THIS IS EVERYTHING
Itâs a *Toy* Story đ¤
You knew it! My new original song âI Knew It, I Knew Youâ for Disney and Pixarâs Toy Story 5 will be yours on June 5th. Iâve always dreamed of getting to write for these characters who Iâve adored since I was a 5 year old kid watching the first Toy Story movie. I fell instantly in love with Toy Story 5 when I was lucky enough to see it in its early stages, and I wrote this song as soon as I got home from the screening. Sometimes you just know, right?
You can pre-order now exclusively on my site and catch Toy Story 5 in theaters June 19th âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸
