thank you :3

Hey friends, I don’t mean to be rude, I asked for feedback, but I didn’t specifically that I wanted human feedback from actual humans :)
This chapter was absolutely heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time
Cassandra’s suffering in this chapter felt so real. The fear, the helplessness and especially the guilt she carries for everyone she couldn’t save completely broke my heart. She doesn’t just fear her own death, she is grieving Helen, Andromache Helenus Briseis and everyone she feels she abandoned. That emotional weight was written so powerfully.
The ship scene was painful because Cassandra has always been someone who sees the future but is powerless to change it. Watching her blame herself for surviving while others suffer showed how much compassion she has, even when she cannot see it herself.
Her conversation with Artemis was one of my favorite parts. Cassandra’s anger was completely understandable. She wasn’t angry because she didn’t appreciate being saved, she was angry because she felt alone during the moments when she needed someone the most. The emotions between them felt so raw and honest.
And then the forest scene felt like the first real moment of peace Cassandra has had in so long. No visions, no curse, no endless suffering. Just a chance to breathe and exist without carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders
The final line was such a beautiful ending because after everything Cassandra lost, she finally begins to understand that there can still be something good waiting for her
OC art idea: I can imagine Cassandra standing beside a quiet forest spring after Artemis saves her still carrying the sadness of Troy in her expression but surrounded by the calm of the huntress life ahead. A moonlit scene with Artemis watching over her Cassandra’s old life fading behind her while a new beginning opens in front of her would capture this chapter’s emotions perfectly
I’m an artist who loves creating character art and story illustrations. This story has such a strong visual atmosphere, I’d love to bring a scene from it to life someday.

i thought the “this is the face that launched a thousand ships, although now it would maybe be five-hundred.” line was just an internet joke but apparently that's a line Menelaus actually says in Nolan's Odyssey??
Not only that the language itself sounds straight out of a marvel forcibly funny haha moment, but Menelaus? The Menelaus who all thoughout human history, from Homer, to Sappho, to Euripides, to Virgil, to Shakespeare, to Brooke, to Barth; from Classical vases to Medieval poetry to Reinessance art, has been known as the man whose sword fell from his hands at the sight of his wife after 10 years apart?
"What joy for me to hold my wife" Menelaus?
"He flung the sword away, and kissed her feet" Menelaus?
"I believe all. I understand nothing. I love you" Menelaus?
"I have no fault to find; my wife, he daughter of Zeus and Leda, is mine again, she whom her brothers on their snow-white steeds, whilst torches blazed, made my happy bride, but gods removed her from my home." Menelaus?
The Menelaus who was picked out of the suitors by Helen herself? The Menelaus who couldn't kill a begging Trojan so his brother had to do it for him? The Menelaus who rescued Odysseus and got out Patroclus' body? The Menelaus who volounteered to fight Paris one on one so everybody could go home? Who kept expressing his guilt about himself being the cause of war through every assembly he spoke at in the Iliad? Who after 10 years away at Troy, took his wife through a 7-year long journey at sea back home, where he reinstated her as the queen of Sparta? Who wept like a child in front of Telemachus recalling the war and his brother and all the friends he lost and the only consolation being his wife' gentle hand on his?
You want me to believe that man scarred Helen's face and called her only worth half the ships because of it?
I'm actually physically sick just thinking about it.
Pitching a concept for a subway surfers-style endless runner where you play as Achilles in book 21 trying to outrun the stream of the furious Scamander all over the plain of Troy
Iphigenia hates all your faves and we’re just gonna have to live with that
source
The Iliad but it's entirely narrated by 16yo Iphigenia and she's just roasting everyone there with a burning passion
Yay!
Instead of the new dogshit Odyssey film you should watch Iphigenia (1977). It’s made by actual Greek people and focuses on a mother-daughter relationship to explore how women are sacrificed by powerful men in times of war. Also the main actress has the face of an angel 🙏 the whole movie is available on YT with English subtitles.
potential new Helen design?? 👀

She looks so alive!
I like this drawing :)
What if Jorge gives Cassandra the Polites treatment?
I got a scary dream…
deidei was getting killed by someone
it was scary 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
That is indeed scary Kassandra. You should truly tell @deideioftroy about this. Perhaps it is a sign or as my dear counselor Polydamas would say...an evil omen to warn all of us to stay behind our high walls and wait for peace to fall into our lap.🥱
Maybe you should listen to Polydamus and stay behind the walls :)

For the love of gods if you have to be so reductive in your argument that you reduce everyone who has valid critiques towards a movie for appropriating culture whilst also having disregarded the people who this culture comes from time and time again as immediately being in the same boat as those racists dogpiling on only Lupita Nyong'o you should go shut the fuck up and get some critical thinking in that head of yours instead of strawmanning every godsdamned valid argument.
shoutout to the Manly Mandanna actually belonging (in Deltarune, at least) to a little girl that just wanted to be seen as tough and brave and probably drew the abs on it herself
