During excavations at the Odeon of Troy in 1993–94, archaeologists uncovered a stunning life-sized marble statue of Roman Emperor Hadrian (117–138 AD), clad in full armor. Remarkably well-preserved, this statue highlights the importance of Troy under Roman rule and recalls Hadrian’s visit to the city in 124 AD, when he sponsored major renovations.
Today, this masterpiece stands proudly in the Troy Museum, Çanakkale, Turkey, offering a direct link to a time when Troy thrived as both a cultural hub and a tourist destination of the Roman Empire.
