and something that I think isn’t getting talked about enough (at least as far as what I’ve seen and what my algorithm has shown me) is that heated rivalry DID NOT fall into the “everything and everyone in Hollywood is sexy but NO ONE is actually horny” trap. almost all of the sex and sexuality in movies and tv these days feels so sanitized and glamorized. the studios want the big name celebrities and they want them both to be hot as hell and look ‘perfect’ and put together and boring. the chemistry doesn’t matter and it doesn’t matter if it feels like there’s any real intimacy or any real stakes. it doesn’t make the audience horny and the characters sure as hell don’t actually seem horny cause that’s not what is being ‘sold’

and heated rivalry said absolutely the fuck NOT !!!

watching sex scenes and intimate moments between shane and ilya feels like i’m intruding on something. like i’m watching two REAL people learn each other and become familiar with each other and TAKE CARE of each other. there’s exploration and it’s messy and sometimes it’s awkward and it’s ACTUALLY horny.
