“Promise.” Seb’s small smile slowly fades, though, as he purses his lips in thought and looks down at his luggage. For a second, Mark thinks he’s going to say something else, but then he looks back up, gives him a quick little wave, and turns around to hurry into the crowd just like the other two before him had done.

Mark is unable to move as he stares after him, a sinking feeling settling in his guts. He has no idea when he’s going to see Seb again.

When music teacher Lewis Hamilton first agrees to join his friend and colleague Angela on a class trip to a farm in rural Switzerland, he has no idea what he’s getting himself into. With a class of twenty-five ten-year-olds he already has his hands full, but when he meets the farm’s owner, one elusive Sebastian Vettel, his curiosity is piqued as he finally gains a deeper understanding of the phrase “blast from the past”.

For Sebastian that past is something he’d much rather not think about. Still unable to come to terms with what happened twenty years ago, he tries to keep his head down, do his job, and stay away from Lewis as much as possible. It proves to be much more of a challenge than he could have anticipated. Especially when Lewis smiles at him like that.

1. The court holds Google responsible for statements made by its AI, considering them Google's statements (search engines have limited liability for results in their engine as they're the words of other sites/companies/people), meaning when their AI lies/hallucinates they're liable for the defamation/harm resulting from those statements.

2. Google's defense that customers are generally aware of the lack of reliability and are responsible for fact checking was dismissed. As the court pointed out, that would "significantly diminish" AI Search's stated purpose and it can't be distinguished from Google's business practices/statements as a search tool.

3. Studies have found about 91% of Google's everyday AI responses are accurate, leaving millions of searches per HOUR with potential liability for falsehoods. 56% of correct responses weren't supported by the sources the AI listed. Both of which mean Google is now liable for a LOT more AI "errors."

4. Google was held liable for 80% of court costs in this case and this precedent is expected to reverberate around the world. This is a massive shift from the 3rd-party search provider role Google has previously played and it comes right as they've tied ALL searches to their AI search.

Sometimes, what you need to do is literally ask for a refill. I know that can be scary and upsetting and requires you to be willing to be vulnerable, but please consider two things:

One: if what you want to do is be able to fill other people's cups, you can't fill from an empty cup. You literally can't do the work if you're emptied out. You need to do this so you can help.

Two: for the people that love you, the people that really matter, you aren't imposing on them by asking for a refill. This is one of the things I really internalized from coming home to Judaism: when someone asks me to help them, they're giving me the opportunity to perform a mitzvah. No matter your belief system or outlook, I think we can probably all agree that being given an opportunity to be more awesome is pretty great.

So ask. Here are a few scripts you can try.
