i have a book coming out, uh, tomorrow. it's a sapphic YA dystopian sci-fi romance with (spoilers!) a hopeful ending. it is about a girl in an Austen-inspired "utopian" society who is slowly realizing that her algorithm-assigned perfect match maybe doesn't hold a candle to her messy, wisecracking estranged former best friend, and the two work together to try to prevent the inevitable "soulmate" marriage. in the process, they realize their entire world is built on a foundation of lies. it's got banter, it's got feelings, it's got banned books and secret rebels and an entire genre of music invented specifically for this story. it's gotten good reviews!

in our modern era, authors are expected to be one of the main engines of promoting a new book, particularly on social media. however, due to personal circumstances (a close relative, who i live with, is dying) i have been a very inconsistent engine. and now in true adhd style, i am attempting to make up for this with one intense push the day before it's due. if you pre-order the book between now and midnight EST tonight (Monday, May 4th 2026), and you submit proof of this to me, i will write you a three sentence ficlet, topic of your choice.
