my all-time favorite impractical g/t trope is "random person grown to giant size in unethical lab experiment." like wtf is the purpose of it? now you gotta feed and clothe and take care of someone 20x the size of a normal person. you can barely restrain them, and they're gonna be pissed as hell that you grew them without consent. you went through alllll that effort to create an angry, scared, and depressed giant, who is probably gonna end up escaping at the hands of an employee due to genre convictions. awesome. 10/10. no notes. if i was the government and someone pitched this to me i would invest five billion taxpayer dollars on the spot i am dead serious. i love lab rat giants

"grump x sunshine" is a cute trope to begin with, but I LOVE it in g/t.
Grump giant x sunshine tiny? Love it. 10/10. Giant who hates everybody, but for some odd reason has a soft spot for this sweet little creature. They'd never act this nice to another giant, so why are they so nice to this little pest? Who knows. But this very much leads to the giant being very protective, because their tiny is way too nice. It could end up with them being taken advantage of, and the giant isn't having that.
Alternatively, grump tiny x sunshine giant. A feisty little thing that's gotten everywhere they are today by standing their ground and not letting anyone push them around. Does that lead to them being a bossy little shit? Yeah, definitely. But then there's this giant, this massive being that could overpower them in every way possible. And they're almost obnoxiously nice. The tiny tries to push them away, to be their usual grumpy self, but how can they when this giant is a massive bundle of gentle kindness that nobody has shown the tiny before?

Dude, I was rereading the third book of “The Moth and The Bear” (by @keydekyie @themothandthebear) and came across the cutest scene and I HAD to draw it:
“Ruyak glanced up and noticed them standing there, but it was obvious from the uncertain look in his eye that he didn't recognize Kaelin at the distance. Of course he wouldn't; she was downwind, wearing borrowed clothes and missing her trademark red headscarf. She would need to help him.
Kaelin waved one hand and called out, "Hullo, beasty!"
“Ruyak's ears flicked up, and his face broke into an ecstatic grin so bright it put the sun to shame.
“Lera squeaked and dove out of the way
“a second before Ruyak came barreling towards them. Kaelin staggered back a step, and the gigantic creature skidded to a stop on his belly, arms on either side of Kaelin and face directly above” (108).
