More on THIS (because I can ken)

Thinking more on this silly AU and I realized they would have some similarities! Ryland doesn't swear - I can't imagine KEN swearing. They both might not swear for different reasons but they both absolutely let loose 'fudging fudger' or 'biscuits' or 'sprinkles' or whatever else. Ken absolutely is aroace and had NO idea for the longest time. He thought he had to have a girlfriend! Turns out he didn't - and now he is living a much happier life being aroace because he is kenough. Skittles. Both LOVE skittles. Love love love love skittles. Especially the sour ones. This is something they both share 100% and they will ride or die by this preference. Ken totally would be the one to stash as many skittles aboard the Hail Mary as possible. (Again - how does he manage this??? Who knows??? Stratt sure doesn't.) Grace: -opens ceiling to rip out wires- -3 bags of skittles land on his face- Wtf. Ken: -thumbs up- ✨✨✨✨✨ :D Oh and Ken would ABSOLUTELY (if he got fired into space, don't question how) would pick up a lot of rocky-isms. Like tapping to say 'question', and 'statement'. He always grins and looks at Rocky for approval like "did I do it right??? Sweet" whenever he does. Lastly Kenneth Grace is a cute name.

C'mon imagine precious himbo Ken being so very proud of his VERY SMART BROTHER! Wow! He's a scientist! Wow he's a teacher! Woah!!! He's helping to save the world? That's super radical of him! Epic. Awesome. So glad - makes it easier to do Beach. Hard to do Beach if the sun is cold right? Those astro-faces are a bummer. :( I mean... Ryland loves the Beach.... Ken's JOB is Beach... so maybe it's... a twin thing...? Ken drops in on Ryland teaching - the kids love him ofc. Imagine him sitting in one of the small chairs in the class and holding his hand up with equal exuberance to answer questions that Ryland asks. Imagine Ken somehow continuing to check in on his bro at work even when he's on the task fork and manages to DROP IN on the AIR CRAFT CARRIER to be there for Grace (no - I don't know how. No... nobody else does either. Yes - Stratt has tried to find out. No - she can't seem to get rid of him) He's this sparkly bubbly neon-wearing himbo of a man that IS SO PROUD OF HIS BROTHER OH-EM-GEE. Could have the potential to be depressing as hell when Ryland is shot into space. Or... HILARIOUS if Ken somehow manages to get himself shot into space (If my bro goes - I go!). Rocky: ... Why is this human so... bright, question? Grace: I thought you couldn't see colour. Rocky: Rocky cannot see... but can... feel the brightness. Ken: ✨✨✨ :D ✨✨✨ (Also.. c'mon... KENland? Barbieland? So we know that Eridians have a massive lifespan in comparison to humans - in the hundreds - so here are some of my Personal Headcanons™ about Eridian Ages

Eridians can live 700+ earth years.

Baby Eridians are called "Pebbles" (this is my favourite thing ever and will have to be pried out of my cold dead hands)

Eridians DON'T have a protracted childhood - they have a protracted 'adulthood'

Actually, the mental development of Eridians is similar to humans - if only a little bit longer. Certainly not more than 2x the time it takes for a human to mature!

They have crystalline brains and eidetic memories - they may have a lot to learn but it is much 'easier' for them to learn!

A creature having a long lifespan doesn't mean they ALWAYS have to have a longer time being a baby or a child!

Though Grace is very very young by Eridian standards, he is 'young' in an EXPERIENCE sense, not in a MENTAL DEVELOPMENT sense

Eridians might be considered fully 'adult' in their 30's (Earth Years) or more - when it comes to maturity - but very young in every other sense

So Grace being on the mission is shocking not because he's a child, but because he is an adult with SO FEW YEARS OF EXPERIENCE!

Which is ALMOST AS BAD

So yes, he is 'young' but not a CHILD to them

If anything it makes him even more respected because someone so 'young' was able to do the mission he did ALONE - and (for them) with such little experience, guidance, mentorship AND without an Eridian's eidetic memory!

About physical growth: I also imagine Eridians are born as very small little things (cute cute cute)

Small vulnerable and need a lot of protection

Not unlike a human infant, they need to learn to speak and walk

They are complex creatures and it will take a being a while to get to grips with all that they are! So baby Eridians are 'similar' to baby humans.

Need to be carried, protected, taught to speak

Need a lot of love from their parents

They have to practice speaking/walking/listening

They might have great memories but have to LEARN to logic things together - put names to objects and memories, etc. etc.

Not so different from human growth and development!

Imagine clumsy Eridian toddlers... toddling around.

They roughhouse as kids, and transition awkwardly into adults like humans do

(... omg are there Eridian memes in the equivalent to Eridian highschool...???)

I also see that Eridians grow over time but eventually stop

They might take longer to reach their physical size before stopping

maybe it takes some many decades into their adulthood before they reach their final size??
