Now that she lifted her head, Kit took in the woman’s appearance. He hadn’t recognized the Johnson sibling at first, but there was no denying her genes. “Well, I’d suggest you’d order another coffee because that one looks cold and not in a good way.” He turned to the waitress and went ahead and ordered a coffee for himself and one for Lori, just trying to do his one nice thing for the day. “She’s grumpy, that’s for sure. Everyone in town seems to be a little off though this week.”
The man looked familiar too her and Lori could tell by the small change in his face that he knew who she was. Part of her wished people wouldn’t look at her like that, she was half a Johnson at best. Undeserving of the prestige and hate that came along with the name. “I’ll leave a good tip,” She promised as the coffee was brought over to them.
