Giants playing GAMES with their tiny friend/partner
(aka a fearplay goldmine presented to you by Mimi)
and because of the size difference, either the rules/structure changes, or the entire experience is heightened.
I will never get over the concept of a giant and tiny playing hide and seek together. Itâs so exhilarating, especially if the giant and tiny are good friends and just doing it for fun, but all of a sudden the tiny is like⌠âoh, this is making my heart beat really fast woah woah woah okayâ
When itâs the giantâs turn to hide itâs so cute and all âha! Found you!â But when the tiny is hiding itâs the tantalizing sound of footsteps, the giant crooning out to them, the whispered âGotcha.â Ooohohoh Iâm giggling.
We also have the classic âusing a tiny as a chess piece/player in a board gameâ and that never gets old.
Consider a variant to hide and seek: hot and cold. A group of giants or a mixed-sized friend group deciding where a tiny is going to hide, so on top of the rush that comes with knowing the giant is getting closer, thereâs also the added tension of knowing that EVERYONE in that room is guiding the giant towards them.
That trending poison-kiss/spot game? Hell yeah. When itâs the giantâs turn, theyâve got to verbally specify which part that was meant to cover since theyâre so small and the tiny needs to tell them if they were safe/right or not. When itâs the tinyâs turn, it might take a bit of extra time for them to GET to the spot they want, so maybe having to ask the giant to lift them up there. Giants having to pick a general region as their poison-zone rather than one spot so itâs more fair to the tiny.
Hear me out: hot potato. Practically a rollercoaster, you better hope you trust your giants if youâre gonna let them toss you around like that. The constant shift in hands, the voices singing the song and giggling as the tiny is passed around, getting near the end and being unable to cling because no giant wants to be the one who gets out. Being cradled and given a break when the round ends by the person who ended up with you.
Another variant of a trend; giant is blindfolded and rotates between holding a bunch of their tiny friends and has to guess which one theyâre holding. Itâs like that whole âholding hands and seeing if they can guess which one is their partnerâ trend. Vice versa is GREAT, too, tiny is blindfolded and has to guess which hands theyâre in.
Push-up contests. Just gonna leave that one there.
âEverything except a giant is Lavaâ
Kind of like Pictionary, but every giant has a tiny sitting on their head ratatouille style and this is played with a BIG mixed-sized friend group, so everyone is walking around and asking questions to each other to guess which tiny is tugging on their hair.
This one is SO g/t-frat-guy-esque, but hang-man with a twist: for every letter you get wrong, another tiny ends up pinned to the board by the back of their shirt. Extra points if the word is so obvious and the tinies are poking fun at them for not being able to guess it. Bonus creativity points if theyâre playing on a whiteboard and the tinies are being held up by magnet letters? Ex. A giant guessed âTâ but that was wrong, so weâre gonna grab a tiny and pin them to the board with the T-magnet/pin. A giant remembering âOh, wait! There actually was a Z in there,â and plucking the tiny off the board who got pinned for that letter a couple guesses back.
Marco Polo. Works best with one giant and multiple tinies for safety reasons.
Chicken fighting in the pool, two tinies each sitting on the shoulder of their giant while the giants are casually lounging beside each other. Itâs mostly focused on the tinies but theyâre using the giants as slippery terrain, trying to shove each other off. The fun part is being the person that loses, really, because they land into the pool with a plop! and are fished out by their giant who was just having a casual conversation throughout the whole game.
Tug of war but itâs like 20 tinies vs a giantâs non-dominant hand or just a single finger with the rope twisted around it.
Thumb war but itâs the ENTIRE tiny trying to pin the giantâs thumb down while the giant tries to pin them down with their thumb. Giant isnât allowed to use their other fingers to make it more fair.
Super durable tinies with strong guts being strapped into a Foosball table. Another roller-coaster kind of experience, added chicanery because tinies are definitely kicking their legs or using their hands to try and move the ball if itâs close to them but not quite reachable. A gear mechanism that locks certain rods if theyâve been used too often so the tinies donât throw up. Using a super soft/safer lightweight ball so no one is getting any concussions. Super reckless, super fun. The aftermath of being carefully unstrapped and given time to rest after the game.
Extreme trust-falls where a tiny closes their eyes and leans back off of a table/something they could get seriously injured from as a trust exercise, knowing their giantâs hand is behind them and ready to catch.
MAZE games. Four giants and four tinies. All the tinies start off in the middle of the maze while their giants are all talking over each other trying to tell them which way to go to get out of the maze, to the side that the giant is sitting out of. First tiny out, wins. Itâs tough because you hear your giant say âokay okay go left!â But another giant is louder and saying âRIGHT RIGHT RIGHTâ
More domestic/sweet; cooking competitions where giants try mini-cooking and then a tiny or multiple tinies rate their dish. Itâs sloppy and clearly made by giant hands but the tension and time crunch is fun.
FEARPLAY CENTRAL: a final note is another hide and seek variant; this time within a house/dollhouse. Time limit so the tiny actually has a chance to win, but they can hide anywhere in the house. The giant can reach in from anywhere with their hand and has to try and find the tiny without being able to see them. Knocking over furniture, pushing things around, blindly grabbing, the tinyâs heart literally pounding out of their chest. Bonus points if itâs a dollhouse and the giant wants a better grip so they just pick up the whole thing and set it in their lap as they continue to dig.
What ties all of these games together is those giggles. Oh my gosh. And for me personally itâs a lot more fun if this is actually done between friends or a giant and tiny that trust each other, because thatâs where the fearplay gets giggle-inducing. If itâs just for torture or punishment or bullying then itâs purely terrifying, but knowing itâs someone you love/care about is what makes that racing heart a heart thatâs beating with adoration as well.
On the other hand, though, who doesnât love a good misunderstanding? Tiny bursting into tears mid game because they didnât realize how terrifying this was going to be. The giant immediately dropping their playfulness and scooping them up to do something less exerting.
In conclusion everyone needs to consider the concept of g/t frat guys at least once. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
