there's two parts to Grace's original argument:

1. there's nothing special about hydrogen and oxygen, other elements and chemical reactions could also serve as the basis for life. (remains unproven even at the end of the book since all the lifeforms e.g. taomoeba, astrophage, eridians are water based)

2. The Goldilocks Zone is For Idiots, aka, life could evolve outside of the commonly accepted temperature range. (proven true by the existence of Eridians who inhabit a planet with a tempterature over 200 degrees Celsius)

In conclusion:

Dr Ryland Grace was *partially* correct in his paper because while Eridians *are* water-based/carbon-based beings, they do not inhabit the Goldilocks Zone at all.

and i just read one where they put 244 and its made me so fucking excited because 244 is the base 6 equivalent of 100 and i immediately recognized it and kind of freaked out lmfao im such a nerd 😭

EDIT: guys i wrote this really fast without thinking very hard about it because i was in the middle of reading a fic but to clarify 244 is our (base 10) 100 written in eridian numbers (V++), their version of 100 (Iℓℓ) is actually 36 in base 10, so if you wanted to accurately portray Rocky’s thoughts in eridian numbers just use “Iℓℓs” and if you want to say the same phrase with our numbers then say “36s”

either way you shouldnt use 60s or 600s because that still doesnt make sense but yeah my original comment wasnt very clear (as a commenter also pointed out before i was able to edit this lol)
