Why does being into g/t feel like a deep dark secret?

I've seen so many people on here say how embarrassed or awkward or even ashamed they feel about their interest in g/t, and it's just like... why

What is it about g/t specifically that feels way weirder than any other 'non mainstream' interest? People who are really into dragons or mermaids or fantasy things in general are usually pretty open about it and no one bats an eye, but then wanting to say "hey I really like giant/tiny people" feels taboo for some reason

Like I swear it was easier for me to come out to my family than it was to tell my closest friends and boyfriend that I really like extreme size differences

And the craziest part? None of them thought it was that weird and I was worried over nothing 😭

Giant that has marks like moles/freckles/beauty marks something that'd be sprinkled all over the body and you get a tiny kid who knows the giant well enough to be around them and you give them a marker. Little kid sees all these marks and starts connecting them like you would to make a picture. Nothing mean or anything just innocent kid wanting to draw on stuff

Giant eventually is like "What are you doing" and the kid shows them the work they've done on the giants arm. The tiny kid could be connecting the dots or that they were making constellations or just making stuff using the natural marks on the giants body

You could do this with any kind of markings really

Looking back at the main story, I can see it... Regarding borrower diets, he asked "What about doll things?" There’s no way they could eat that, Trevor! (From Part 6).

But since he’s a student studying to become a firefighter, I’m sure he’s not *that* seriously dim-witted.

Maybe that flaw only exists because he’s blessed with friends who don’t mind it? It might even be proof of how big-hearted he is! ~~~

Trevor acting like a "school bully."

I’m sorry! I’m so sorry! Trevor would never actually say this! (By the way, the line written here is a classic, overused "bully trope" from Japanese manga and anime).

That said, early in the story, Trevor is often described as "looking like a school bully" (G/t Relationship Dynamic #3, Part 1, etc.).

I only know my own small cultural circle, so I don't know exactly what schools or student life are like in other countries...

But imagining it... a popular guy with a huge build, eyes hidden behind sunglasses, always surrounded by classmates... for someone like me who used to shrink away in the corner of the classroom, he’d definitely be intimidating in many ways! ~~~

I want to massage Bennett’s shoulders and all those sore spots. I want to soothe his tired eyes and dark circles with a warm towel...

The more I read, the more I see how devoted Bennett is to his family and fellow borrowers. Working as a mailman for everyone, taking care of his parents, siblings, and relatives...

At the same time, he has a strong sense of independence and pride as an adult (which might apply to all borrowers), so he doesn't like to just rely on others' help indefinitely.

But Bennett, your health comes first! Your willingness to help everyone is wonderful, but if you collapse, everyone will be sad and troubled! (Like in Part 25...)

It might sound like a platitude, but please, take proper rest! ~~~

A scene where Trevor, while working on his PC, tries to use his mouse without looking and accidentally puts his hand on Bennett, not realizing he was on the desk. It looks like he’s being pinned by a giant starfish...

From Bennett or Trevor's perspective, it's no joke... but as a viewer, I’m sorry, but the combination of a big hand and a tiny borrower is just... very cute. Yes. ~~~

I drew the scene from Part 10 where Hank sees Trevor (from inside the drawer)! I also love how the art style changed for that specific chapter, so I tried to mimic it a little bit.

In the actual story, he probably hid in the small box before he saw him this clearly, but if he had frozen in fear and failed to escape, it might have looked like this... For someone with megalophobia like Hank, Trevor must have looked so much more cold and cruel than he actually is.

(Sorry for the scary drawing! I just really love the trope of a borrower being terrified of a giant upon their first encounter, so I ended up emphasizing my favorite elements.)

You might think Trevor’s expression here is too grumpy... but think about it. When a person is just living their daily life alone and doing simple tasks, their face is often more expressionless than they realize.

And Hank... Borrowers seem to mature faster and be more independent to survive, and even though he’s 9 (an age where one becomes quite reliable), it was still so brave of him to go and apologize to the giant Trevor after such a terrifying experience! He's such a good boy. (From Part 13 & 14). *** Thank you for looking!
