I return with another question! What animals would all of your characters be if they weren't human/human-like/human hybrids? I'm mostly asking for Clement and the Earth giant (who I am totally not trying to draw noooo not at all) but I figured there might be an answer for other characters. This can be based on anything, looks, personality, how others feel about them, etc

Hello Earth Giant Anon! thank you so much for your questions from before, I'm glad you didn't mind the rambling! And hey wait a minute what was that about you drawing something?

HAH in all seriousness: Animals that the characters would be if they weren't humanoids...

Riebeck: Perhaps the most obvious, I do imagine he'd be a cat. I'm not a cat person so I don't know species, but... I believe he's said at one point he's closest to a Burmese? Yeahh, I think he's the closest to having a 'canon' answer hahaha

The Earth Giant: Something big, right? Hahahaha I could see him being, like... A komodo dragon, y'know? Like a big lizard... Or a crocodile! I think the 'scaly' aspect works well for him being so big and powerful and kind of guarded.

Clement, the Friendly Giant: Oh god for him I really like the concept of like... bugs, fairies, et cetera??? So I could either see him being like... A Luna Moth, OR if we're going for something a bit larger... Maybe an elk, like a tule elk?

Nathan, the Chill Mechanic: I recall a running concept with an acquaintance of mine was that Nathan was a coyote and Hugh was a sheepdog. I like that concept! Though I think going outside of that... Nathan, I could see, being a morgan Horse. Beautiful n' versatile, plus it fits with his 'cowboy' theming.

Hugh, the Himbo Gymbro: Again, if not going with the 'Coyote Nathan, Sheepdog Hugh' line of thinking... Would have to be like, a black bear, right? Because he's big and muscular, and it literally goes with the term 'bear hug'

Shaudrey, the 'Chill' Mage: Raven. I dunno man, just... Raven. hahaha I just think it fits for him!

The Mean Tiny: Chihuahua. He's a Chihuahua, all tiny rage and no braincells, hahaha

And finally, Niel, the Short Roomie: I initially was thinking owl for him, since I feel like the 'night owl' vibe works for him and plus they can be both graceful and dorky, but I think like an otter??? Could be cute??? Yeah, I think otter or owl.

This here's the full art you can see in the thumbnail of the latest audio in my current ASMR series running on my channel! Shaudrey's gone and made himself huge after you and your friend Oliver found out some strange arcane happenings are going on at the giant's house outside of town. Hopefully he's keeping himself safe out there.

A few things would like to add/note

1. Nobody can convince me that the mean tiny wasn't born on April fools. That little guy is a rambunctious little Aries through and through

2. It says Hugh is an Aquarius but it says he was born in June, so either he was born January 24 and is an Aquarius or he was born June 24 and he is not an Aquarius, but rather another Cancer (personally as an Aquarius, I hope it's the former, hehe)

BARRGARGBKAGKBRGRG this is is why I can't be trusted with astrology! I fear in Hugh's case, the date is right and the sign is wrong- he's a Cancer in this case- primarily because I liked the concept that he was born during Pride month. It felt very fitting for someone so passionately accepting of other people.

THAT SAID, Mean Tiny was 100% born on April Fools Day. His entire existence is a joke-- //shot Nah but in all seriousness I do think April 1st works well for the Mean Tiny.

Besides sometimes I'll ask someone and they'll respond "uhhhh idk they don't have one" so the fact that they have canon birthdays at all is great for me - Gremlin

Hahaha no worries, Gremlin! I get what you mean, sometimes the more 'trivial' facts about characters get ignored in favor of more 'important' ones, so I approve the initiative!

That said, for your viewing pleasure... Here's your list plus just a few bonuses. Most of these characters are set in the present day, though for anyone who doesn't line up with that I'll add in their age for clarity (cough cough, it's just Atos, cough cough)

Clement: I actually don't have a birthday for Clement, in part because he's so flippin' old hahaha. I like to think he'd let folks celebrate his birthday whenever, though. Just pick a day and he'll take time to celebrate hahahah

Riebeck: Gemini (May 30th, 2003, making him i think the youngest cast member currently)

I’m new to your channel. I admire your work. I love g/t, but I have a hard time avoiding all the kinky stuff. Your Discovery of Self videos are very approachable for the kind of stuff I’m into.

My question: how did you learn to do the voices for all your characters? Did you learn through any voice acting? Or are you self-taught? I want to learn a little voice acting myself.

Hey there A. R.! Thanks for the question, and the kind words! I'm so honoured to be able to provide audios that fit in a more SFW space with G/T! And I'm SO glad you've been enjoying the Discovery of Self series, they've been a long time coming!

As for how I learned to do these characters' voices: I've been doing voices since I was a young lad playing dolls with his sibling, BUT one of the main ways I began developing voices that felt a bit more distinct was through D&D! As a lDM, it's always been important for me to be able to create voices that sound distinct between characters to avoid confusion for players. So yeah! That was more or less how I began the process. I also did learn a few things from my sibling, who took singing lessons for a few years- things like how to position your voice (notably through using your head or chest voice) to create a different sound or tone while keeping the pitch the same.

I will say, I've been keeping up with Casting Call Club for a while, and I do know they offer VA classes for various specialties, from improv to book reading and so on. I have considered signing up for one of those, but... as of this moment, I am far too poor and busy. BUT for someone like yourself who wants to dip your toes into voice acting, I'd definitely say to give that a look!

1. Does he have a name? Or something people tend to call him?

2. I know he's bigger than Clement, but how tall is he really?

3. Does he have, like, legs? I assume he likely does but knowing that he's like a plant I do wonder how that works

4. I know he's mentioned eating giants, but does he do so for sustenance? If so, are there any other benefits to that (growing faster, just liking how they taste) given that he gets nutrients from the Earth? And if not why does he do it lol

5. How long does he tend to sleep and why?

6. How often are people trying to kill him XD

Hey there Anon! Thanks for the questions, I’m so glad you like the Earth Giant! He's a lot of fun for me to record, I'm quite fond of his sort of, amicable/relaxed but not overly friendly vibe.

To answer your questions:

1. Does he have a name/nickname?

Not really. He’s a very antisocial sort due to both his circumstances, and because his actions to protect nature involve directly inconveniencing (or at times endangering) mortals. As such, he’s mostly just referred to as ‘the giant menace’ or other less-than-friendly names by the mortals nearby him. Additionally, I have it in my head that giants don't usually name themselves without very good reason, so unless someone gives them a name, they tend to go their lives by title, status, or type alone (e.x. the City Giant protecting Burgerburgh, the golden Shore Giant, etc) That said, as I imagine is the case with most giants, he doesn’t particularly mind any nickname, so if someone gave him one he’d be pretty welcoming to it.

3. Does he have legs?

I swear this reordering will make sense in a second.

In my original drawings of him, and the way I’ve imagined him since, he does not have legs! The way I’ve drawn him up to now in a few different concept sketches (were I able to find them I’d show them), he’s actually naga-like in design, with a long tail that also makes up his root system. I imagine before he ‘grew into himself’ so to speak, it was a fully functional snake-like tail that he’d slither around on. However, nowadays I imagine the roots that grow from his ‘tail’ can act like limbs that propel him along quite quickly through the earth.

2. I know he's bigger than Clement, but how tall is he really?

OKAY, so: if you were to measure him from the top of his head to the tip of his tail, he’d likely be *way* frickin longer, because… his tail alone would be like 50 feet at minimum??? However, measuring him from the ‘bottom’ of his tail (where it would rest on the ground) to the top of his head, according to my height charts, he’s about 70 feet tall to Clement’s 50-foot height. 

4. Why does he eat giants?

While eating other giants does provide good sustenance, it’s mostly self-preservation. Human-born giants (usually capping at 20 feet tall maximum) are occasionally sent to kill him because of his disturbance toward human territories. As such, if they can’t be reasoned with, he sends them into his belly when it’s active. Other than that, he really doesn’t have a particular reason. He’s just a loner who has some strange habits.

5. How long does he tend to sleep and why?

About as often as he can manage- sometimes months or years at a time if he can, though I imagine this is in part because he connects to the earth more strongly in his dreams, when ‘he’ is no longer a factor and it’s just his surroundings and his guidance over them. For a comparison of sorts... When he’s awake, it’s like he’s riding a horse- he can control where it goes and he knows its general mood and needs. But when he’s asleep, it’s like he becomes the horse and thus can more intimately control its steps and help provide for it.

So, that in mind, outside of conserving energy and not just soaking up all the sustenance around him, he sleeps mostly so that he can do his job- protecting the earth and tending to it personally.

And for anyone wondering how on earth his body would even function after months or years of slumber… He’s not a mortal being! He was quite literally spawned one day because the earth’s magic found an area which needed his protection. That to say: his body just works differently than ours.

6. How often are people trying to kill him XD

Not often, thankfully! It happens maybe once or twice a year at the most frequent, I think. He’s proven enough times that it’s a generally fruitless endeavor trying to kill him, and any methods that might feasibly work would also massively fuck up the environment (shocker), so it’s generally just the occasional self-important giant that makes their way to handle him… to no avail. Of course, as he does spend most his time sleeping and he really doesn't like being disturbed... I imagine that, in his perception of things, it's a fairly regular occurrence, which leads to him being a bit wary of others visiting him.

Oh god, I suspect that Niel thinks he'd handle it way differently than he actually would, particularly since Niel's universe is a bit more grounded than some of my other characters.

While he's typically very careful- holding his roommate more firmly, keeping fingers hooked under their arms, et cetera- because he doesn't actually want to swallow them... I imagine he thinks he'd be pretty calm about it, like "well, you shouldn't've gotten in that situation in the first place! Don't be brat next time! But... Fine fine, I'll let you out. Don't squirm so much."

But in actuality, were it to happen, I imagine he would be panicking. Niel has no idea how efficient his stomach is, or how resistant to it his roomie is, so he'd be pretty instantly apologetic and would be scrambling to do whatever was necessary to get his roommate out of peril, even to the extent of his extreme discomfort or harm. Better him getting hurt than risking the life of his best friend, y'know?

(This is, I think, part of the reason he panicked so much the first time his roomie tried eating him- because he sees his own stomach as being very dangerous, so the idea of being put inside someone else's made him think "oh, they want to put my life in danger")

Of course (avoiding graphic emeto comments), he would eventually get them out, a bit worse for wear, and would be immensely apologetic. He'd wash them off, ensure they were safe and comfortable again, and then basically beg their forgiveness and do whatever he could to make their life better.

After the initial experience, though, I think Niel would still carry that with him for a long time. Like, that lingering dread of "oh my god I almost did something horrible." His teasing, I think, would go way down just because he wouldn't be sure how his roommate really saw him y'know? Like, did they forgive him? Did they hate him? Was he a monster for putting them in that situation? He'd be pretty messed up until the pair could properly talk about it.

Even after that, though, I don't think he'd ever make those kinds of threats again. Even years later, because if it could happen once even in spite of his efforts, it could absolutely happen again. So even if his roommate reassured him that they were okay and they weren't mad, he wouldn't be willing to cross that line again.

Overall, I think the experience would just totally wreck him, hahaha definitely not something he'd actually want to go through.

Maybe it's just me, but sometimes I'll watch or play a piece of media that has like 10 people in its fandom, and I'm like "But if any of them are G/T lovers, they'd love art of <insert g/t scenario here>" Or like, I'll wonder if other people would see certain characters as the giant or tiny or borrower or whatnot differently than me, like maybe I'm sitting here like "oh of course, this detective game needs a tiny!detective giant!assistant dynamic that's the only logical one" and someone else would be like "giant!detective tiny!assistant all the way"

I also loved some details like the tiny seemingly being scared by hearing the stomach growling before being swallowed and staring at the gullet. Sorry but there are so many details that makes the video so good ! ✨

Anyway, let’s go back to the main topic 😅

By listening to this video, 3 questions popped on my head :

1) are Tiny characters immune to stomach acids ? Or Giants doesn’t need acids within their stomach ? Or depending on periods when they don’t need to eat, their stomach doesn’t have acids ? Just wondering how they can stay inside without being harmed at all :0

2) are Tiny characters taking a small space within the stomach of the giant (as if the stomach is like a giant empty room with a tiny sitting in one corner of that said room) or their are curled up inside to fit ? Simply wondering as well :0

3) is there anywhere I can learn about your characters ? By listening to your videos, I wanna know more about your characters. Is there a post where all the info’s is gathered ? A Toyhouse page or something where I can learn more about them ? (Also as to follow this question, who is that character from that video ? Where he is being swallowed for the first time ? Just by listening to that vid I already love them ✨💙 and I wanna know who they are :0 )

Thank you so much for the kind words, I’m so honoured to hear you liked this most recent audio! Honestly, it was super fun to record, and I’m just blown away by how many people have enjoyed it.

In regards to your questions! 

1) In this particular case, given the ‘lore’ I’ve set up, Size Shifters have a particular biological mutation that (to make a long story short) lets them control the way their body functions, which is why they can change sizes without the use of spells, potions, or technology. I imagine that’s also at play in this case with the listener’s stomach- being a size shifter, they can sort of alter how hospitable their stomach is, meaning they could eat people safely.

2) It depends largely on the two characters’ sizes of course, though with this particular audio… I imagined Niel being in the listener’s stomach as sort of akin to being inside of a one-person tent or the backseat of a car. Not super claustrophobic, definitely offers some wiggle room, but he wouldn’t be able to stand up or do jumping jacks inside of it or anything.

3) Oh god, I wish I had a place to showcase all of my characters, their backstories, their personalities, et cetera. I’d actually planned to work on that earlier this year, but a few things have put that particular project a bit on the back-burner. At some point, though, there will be- either a Toyhouse, or a wiki, or… something like that!

As for the specific character you’re referring to, Niel: He doesn’t have a whole lot of lore just yet! He works at an office job (Work From Home when he can, but he does have a physical office he goes to), and he's been living a relatively normal life with his best friend as his roommate for a few years now. In Niel's universe, Size Shifters really aren't a thing, and those who openly are tend to be viewed strangely at best, and get hounded by the government for testing at worst. That to say: When Niel's roommate comes out as a size shifter to him, it's a pretty big deal for everyone involved. BUT that's about all I've got with this poor guy- I've somewhat intentionally left him undeveloped, as I felt he didn't really need a lot of backstory for the purpose of his audios (exploring g/t and size difference with a PoV that changes sizes from audio to audio), but I'll absolutely get to fleshing him out more in the future.
