I am not talking about the facial hair. I mean the performances of amazing girlfriend for the past year (or more!) and amazing boyfriend, or uncertain boyfriend, or unbothered boyfriend? Or smitten lovebirds, or match made in heaven.... yes, lets think about that. OK. Done. Listen.
He isn’t being forced to look like he loves her and wants to be near her. He is forced to exist in same general area, and to be next to her at times. He is an actor. He can make strangers feel seen and listened to, or liked, in a 4 minute interaction. And then make the next fan also experience interest, happiness or appreciation in another 3 minute encounter. He may also genuinely feel happy or interested in a person he meets and exchanges some words with, and could be tight with frustration up inside and wishing he could run from the situation, when smiling and side hugging another fan. I don’t know, can’t really tell if he’s acting hard or hardly acting.
But seriously, people, taking the various film or single pic evidence of his encounters with this little wannabe girlfriend lady, and then making the observation that he definitely has genuine affection for her, that his thoughts frequently turn to her, is simply a leap of imagination. It just is. It’s filling in blanks with fluffy gooey ideas, but there are real actual blank holes there. Sitting in close proximity to strangers or friends or whatever, there are still subtle body movements or positions a trained actor can use to demonstrate all kinds of slight messages of attitude, interest, comfort, wariness, respect. The list is infinite.
What is happening with the times when Sam is being observed in public is -- when Sam is in public. No person knows this better than Sam. So it seems he is spending energy AVOIDING a person (I’m just ignoring the absolute wrong addition of a child) He is not trying to sell this as a close romantic infatuation or love story. And yet, he is being credited by a group of people for exactly that accomplishment. And all I can come up with after a year is still the same response. Whyyyyyy? That’s it. Why literally act like he does not care about someone, in this well documented way? What is the point of acting like you aren’t acting, while acting, as if not acting.But he is acting.
