The chaos of hair and my new cheek tattoos. I have always been a fan of wild hair. In 1970- 71ish I loved braiding my very fine white blonde hair all over while it was wet. By morning poof I had somewhat of a white afro. 😂However it took forever to do! I am glad all styles are back anything goes that suits one’s whims. What fun we are having in that regard. Fabrica LA Aurora in San Miguel de Allende. My exterior shots on a wonderful Sunday morning with a cup of expresso from their coffee bar. Also known as the Cultural Center of Art & Design Filled with fabulous Galleries and workshops and a couple of restaurants. La Aurora was a textile factory for 9 decades. Wonderfully curated gallery spaces. There also was this man made angular rectangle pond with a huge island with trees or 1 big tree in the middle with a fascinating group of clean bright White huge ducks in there with irregular black spots just like a cow! Me likes very much the textual contrast of various physical surfaces and their differences all put together into one visual vignette or statement. Colorful project …in 2005 I was asked to make these wild colored giant pillows for a sultans room. I still had my dress shop on Montana Avenue so I had my ladies who normally make dresses sew these wild pillows with me and at the time I’m trying to figure out how to make them look like (the only picture I had of a sultans pillow ) was from the Metropolitan Museum see pic 2. Color inspiration …This seating is so fun, ethnic and contemporary in its style. From Jessica Helgerson. I am Inspired by this piece and the whole room together. The seating is just the right balance of a contemporary base and then the cushions out of Peruvian Frazada blankets. Pic 2 is an even lower seating piece of a more organic boho style using Turkish Killims from Turkey mixed with a few Grateful Dead iconic concert motif pillows and a thick textual linen for the top side of cushions for ones rear end to sit on and the Kilim not be scratchy.
