BLACK CAT: A term to describe an intersex individual who presents themself in a gothic, punk, emo or otherwise alternative fashion. Anyone who is intersex and presents themself in a non-mainstream fashion can can describe themself or be described as a black cat, regardless of their specific intersex variation (pcos included).

HISTORY BEHIND THE TERM: Historically, intersex babies have been seen as a curse or a sign of bad luck. On the contrary, they have also been seen as descendants of the Greek god Hermaphroditus, and thusly, were seen as divine. Black cats have had a similar history. While often seen as a sign of bad luck, black cats can also be used as a symbol of magic.

i mixed in some purple to have heavier emphasis on the breaking of the sex binary, along with making sure that each of the colors contrast each other heavily. also, since i never posted this, here’s the meaning of each stripe! (applies to both versions, this one’s just an alternative color scheme if the first one’s hard to read)

A term used for individuals with intersex variations, often types of hypogonadism, who physically appear like eunuchs. Even today, many medical sources describe some intersex variations with terms like "eunuchoid(ism)".

This flag is for any intersex individual who feels "congenital eunuch" applies to them in whatever capacity, regardless of assigned sex at birth, genital appearance, socially imposed gender/s, current gender identity, etcetera.

Colors weren't picked super deliberately with seperate meanings, intentionally supposed to be a compliment to the reclaimed hermaphrodite flag first and foremost to oppose its bright & warm colors. Other representations can be the blues indicative of the historical usage of "eunuch" being almost exclusively applied to individuals with male-typed bodies, and the dark & cool colors representative of intersex variations that cause hypogonadism, hypo/apubescence, agenitalia, and other "neutral" traits; as opposed to a word like hermaphrodite usually associated with mixed or "androgynous" traits. Pluto symbol is also essentially just a compliment for the astrological Mercury (occasionally Earth) symbol used for intersex folks, mostly inspired by my intersex headcanons blog where dwarf planet Pluto was suggested. Flags for being ItMtF (intersex-to-male-to-female) and ItFtM (intersex-to-female-to-male)!

The first and third flags are in the beyond-mogai-pride-flags style (since you mentioned FtMtF/MtFtM flags and I couldn't find any others), while the second & fourth are my own take. The stripe meanings for those are: intersex identity, transitioning, being ItM/ItF (at some point), being male/female (at some point), being MtF/FtM, & being female/male at the "end."
