I saw you coined Dullnian yesterday and I was curious if you made it with any specific experience in mind?
I used to be firmly bisexual but now my identity feels really muddy because of multiple traumatic experiences with certain genders. I still feel attraction (I think) but when I do feel the attraction it can cause distress or discomfort
I know when people usually make terms like Dullnian they make them with specific experiences in mind and I don't want to unintentionally misuse your term /gen /nm
Hi. Alter that term was coined for here, for starters I would like to say that I don’t think you would be misusing the term. While I do coin with specific experiences in mind, I believe labels can be applied to so many more things.
If my term was like “I love pancakes” and someone wanted to use my term but they hated pancakes, that would be misuse. But if I coin that term because I like buttermilk pancakes but someone else uses it because they like blueberry pancakes, well we both fit under the definition just differently.
It may be different for other coiners, but I believe as long as you fit the description (even in non traditional ways) and are doing it in good faith, use my flags.
Now as for why Dullnian was coined, there are rape threats below, be warned.
it was mainly because I distinctly used to have a sexuality. I was attracted to multiple genders, but hadn’t really found the right label yet. And then we started talking to someone. And some of this persons alters made several rape threats to me and jokingly shipped me with a guy I hated (genuine hate and disgust). This caused me to check out of my own sexuality. I put a disconnect between myself and my attraction. Now, when I am trying to reconnect. My sexuality feels muddy. Like I can’t understand it. I have no before label to turn too because I never really had one. And I don’t feel like caedsexual fully fits me because my sexuality is still there. It’s still allosexual. It is just quiet. There is too much of a divide between me and my sexuality for me to make it out. I still have a sexuality, but it is smaller now, like background noise thats there but not loud enough for me to hear or understand.
