In Real life. not in a videogame or movie because I've Only seen it in videogames and a friend has spotted it in a movie.

#my parents' house has one like that. they moved the door (formerly opened to a bedroom. now to a hallway)#and the electrical and plpes meant the switches had to be on the outside #apparently the door used to be here (prev owners moved it to the bedroom lol) so I guess the switches were originally outside #I don't like it. Especially cause I've forgotten to turn on the fan/dehumidifier thing until after I've undressed and then what do you do

So I showed this to a physicist and they were like "Oh! Yes! It's a figure from Fred Espenak's very old paper where he did a bunch of eclipse graphics! I've been looking at these my entire internet life, basically, for every solar eclipse! They called him Mr. Eclipse. He just passed away recently 🥺"

Anyway apparently Mr. Eclipse made 5000 years' worth of solar eclipse graphics, which you can find the simpler versions of here

So now instead of laughing at NASA for their outdated graphics I'm emotional about Mr. Eclipse and his hard work

I always feel so cheated in stories when characters are walking around with this Big Guilt and then...you find out that the thing wasn't their fault at all. And not in a "they thought they did it but it turns out they were set up" way, or even a "accepting that just because they did A which caused B which caused C it doesn't mean C was their fault", way but where they finally lay out the sequence of events and it's clear that any thinking person would not connect them. Like, fucking commit!!! The character isn't LESS compelling if they actually did the thing! You can't have the haunted brooding meow meow who is...also completely blameless
