TAINTED & TABOO 2026 EVENT

It's the month of letting your deepest, darkest, pervisions out to play with your imagination!

Tainted & Taboo 2026 is live!

Starting on June 1st and ending on June 30th. This is a 4 week event where each week you have 7 days to write for that week. At the end of the week all fics for that week are due in to the A03 collection below.

You can choose just one prompt or you can choose both. There can be other taboo kinks in there but your fic must include one of the 2 listed for that week.

All fandoms and ships welcome. OC / OC is also welcome. Write whatever your imagination demands!

All fics must be at least 1K words. If you write a multi-chapter fic, only the 1st chapter needs to be submitted if this will be an ongoing project. That 1st chapter must include one of the 2 listed prompts and must be 1k words at least. The other chapters do not need to be finished.

To participate in the event, you MUST be a member of the Tainted Souls server. If you know someone who would like the event and wants to participate and they are 18 and older, please send them an invite to the server. Below is the link to the server.

🖋️ Written works minimum word count: 100 words

🎨 Almost any medium accepted: fic, art, podfic, moodboards, physical crafts, etc.

🥰 All aboard the ship: Fics must feature both Remus and Severus (platonic and/or romantic). Polyamorous ships also welcome. All sexual, gender and romantic interpretations are welcome.

🌖 Fanworks based on fanworks (podfics etc): (aka remixes) We welcome podfic, translations, moodboards, art based on existing fanworks. (This year, getting permission from the original fanwork creator will be your responsibility, and no screenshot proof etc will be required)

🌑 Dark/Dead Dove content: permitted, but must be properly and thoroughly tagged.

🚫 No AI-generated works allowed.

Hello, microficcers, guess who's back??? 😍

We said we were done with microfics (that was a lie). We said 2024 was the last fest (um, well). But in this crazy year of 2026, we are back and we are better than ever! If you were with us for previous iterations, first of all, welcome back! Second of all, things are going to look a little different this year.

So, let’s get to it! What’s happening with Microfic May 2026?

Microfic May is a multi-fandom, open prompt challenge that encourages the creation of microfiction.

We define microfics as works of fiction that are 50 words or less. However, this limit is merely a suggestion. We accept all lengths!

This is a multi-fandom event open to all characters, ships, ratings, genres, and content.

Participants must be aged 18+ and follow DLDR, SALS, and YKINMKATO etiquettes. (What does this mean?)

The use of AI is prohibited! If we find out you have used AI during any part of the writing process, you will be banned from the fest and your works will be removed from the collection.

We have 32 prompts that are split onto 4 mini bingo cards. Pick a card and get started! If you’re feeling extra ambitious, writing one prompt per day will complete all cards.

Don’t like a prompt? Each bingo card comes with one Alternate prompt option.

To submit a work, add it to our collection on AO3 Microfic May 2026 or post it on Tumblr with the tag #microficmay2026. Feel free to mention us at @microficmay, but we will only be reblogging completed bingo cards at the end of each week.
