coming up to the end now. she probably has less than 3 weeks left, my brother text the family gc today to say she was mostly unresponsive and he was kind of panicking. she sleeps a lot and is harder to wake and is generally drowsy most of the time, sometimes she just sits there / doesn't speak much.

but recently she got it in her head (she always gets stuck on a particular idea) that she wants to do a birthday party on a boat. her birthday is in february btw! so we decided we are gonna try to have an early party for her

so everything fell onto me to organise it ofc haha

i did manage to find a boat company that has an indoor river boat for up to 12 people so we can bring her friends. and it just goes up and down the river, they bring a table, cups of tea and biscuits etc and the skippers can tell you about the river and entertain you

the boat is not cheap though. its a special made boat that is wheelchair accessible because obviously she is disabled, also the staff are all volunteers. i asked them if they have a refund policy because i don't know if she will make it to the day of the booking and i explained my situation. and they said yes we could get a refund and its usually 50% they keep but they said due to mums circumstances they would only keep £50 total just to cover the costs they would waste.

also my bf can only do weekends, he would usually be able to book it off but his boss is on holiday in italy atm so we could only do one particular weekend... and they said yes they could! on the 22/23rd. usually they dont offer weekend rides but they would do it special for us 🥺😭 and its a bit more expensive because we are basically asking volunteers to come in on their day off / their holidays and help us. i dont mind it at all to be honest it looks amazinmg and they deserve the money

also, mum said that on the boat she wants a live band (lol, we can do a bluetooth speaker x), she wants an indian wedding cake (?) and she wants all the nurses from the care home to come too. and all the residents i guess. lol

so it wont be exactly to her standards hahah. im seeing if i can get a custom cake made for not too expensive, otherwise shes getting a freaking colin caterpillar

also i need to organize more expensive wheelchair transport to and from the boat location, get there 30mins early to decorate the interior with birthday stuff

keep in mind i dont even know if she will be aware and conscious at that point. i think even if she's mostly non verbal by that point, we will still take her, even if theres a chance it makes her happy and she enjoys herself. but if she can't get out of bed we will have to cancel.

also i need to find someone coming who has a bluetooth speaker and we can play all her favourite disco music lol. her favourite is boney M and donna summer. she used to disco dance all the time when she was younger

i know she has a spotify but i couldnt find her account to find her playlists or anything so hopefully she can remember it to tell me today!!

her bsf (+ their family) who r coming to the party went out yesterday and bought 'happy birthday' birthday balloons, a badge that says 70 (shes actually 69 but she thinks she will be 70), party plates and theyre gonna get to the venue 30mins early to decorate it so i dont have to do that any more! and then i can go in the taxi transport with mum. so everything is working out good

i just need to speka to everyone today and confirm, then book it, and get a cake sorted for the day. then next saturday is the day and just praying she is still here then 🙏🙏🙏

The recall of 1,589,577 dozen white-shell eggs and brown cage-free shell eggs was initially issued by Midwest Poultry Services in late July, which warned they might be contaminated with Salmonella Enteritidis.
