I have such a vivid memory of being like 13, and seeing this ad on YouTube saying that they had gotten childhood smoking down to 7% in America. I was so happy for all my fellow American children. Then the following year, vaping came out.

One of the key components of the reactionary mind today is just a desire to kill people. They want the death penalty, they want war, they want the National Guard to kill people, they want federal bureaucrats to kill people, they want police departments to kill people. They want anyone who doesn't conform to their idea of the country to be imprisoned, exiled and/or killed. Guilty, innocent, who cares? The possibility of death even of innocent bystanders through violent state crackdown should keep people in tight conformity.
