So the big plan to silently hold up little signs worked out great for the Democratic Party leadership, didn't it?
The first high profile opportunity to stand together and push back against a fascist dictator and his cabinet of criminals was utterly wasted by all of them, except for Democrat Al Green, who is an American hero. Respect to the Democrats who refused to even attend, and heaping scorn for the weak little cowards who sat there and let him insult them to their faces.
And what did they get for it? Let's review:
richly deserved mockery from all sides
Our nation is under attack by millions of our fellow Americans who seem real dedicated to resegregating America, who have put destructive, incompetent, unqualified, corrupt people into every position of power they can.
And the best you can do is hold up little signs? Are you fucking serious? Who was inspired by that? Who was moved by that? Who felt reassured that you're going to fight to preserve Democracy?
I had no expectations, and still I am disappointed.
I keep saying that we need something like the Tea Party but for Democrats. We have to make them afraid of us so they will listen to us and fight as hard as they say they will in their fundraising. We have to cut them off from our donations, and replace them with people who won't run away from a fight for the very soul of our nation and way of life.
I know the Democrats can get into a dirty bar fight, because the party does it every single time a real progressive has a chance of replacing one of them. So we have to force them to make a choice: fight like that to defend the constitution and hold this criminal accountable, or get out of the way for people who will.
