Transphobia is about to be signed into law in the UK. We can fight this.
I am begging the UK trans community and its allies to attend the Mass Lobby at Parliament on June 25th, 11am-4pm, organised by Trans Solidarity Alliance.
Last year we broke the record for an LGBT+ mass lobby of Parliament. Will you help us break it again? Join us on 25th June 2026 to demand be
The new EHRC Code of Practice pushes trans people out of toilets, hospital wards, and community spaces. It normalises gender policing based on appearance and stereotypes. It becomes statutory guidance in the UK by the end of June.
Trans people are now legally their assigned gender at birth and must join gendered spaces accordingly, but if they are perceived as their lived gender, they can also be ejected from those spaces. The guidance says: either break the law, or donāt pass too well.
A mass lobby is where you invite your MP to discuss your concerns with you in-person. Ask your MP to:
Demand full parliamentary scrutiny, debate, and use their free vote on the EHRC Code of Practice.
Support any motions rejecting the EHRC guidance. As of June 4th, Labour MP Nadia Whittome has submitted a prayer motion - Early Day Motion 240.
Write to Bridget Phillipson, the Minister for Women and Equalities about our concerns
Your MP does not have to be an ally, they do not have to respond to your email for you to show up and greencard them (details below the cut.) What matters is that as many people as possible show up.
I cannot stress this enough: Showing up in person matters. It is much more effective than petitions, emails, and letters.
It is a horrible, stressful time, and I am so sorry if you're trans and live in the UK. But I was at last year's mass lobby and the line for greencarding alone stretched around the back gates. It was a record breaking mass lobby and made us impossible to ignore. Let's do even better this time. Details under the cut:
Ummm she's literally sensitive :/

Barely had time to doodle, but managed to sketch the important gals of my AU.
Tweaked their designs a bit to fill my need to draw folds and to give Queenie/Kinger the ability to truly āembraceā someone when they hug them⦠giving them arms, sorta.
Still not satisfied with Moonās design. Perhaps Iāll give her ācloudsā, like I did with Sun. š¤
Much better now! I donāt have to figure out the shoulders of a floating, neckless head if I hide them inside a cloud. āļø

i think the key difference between george lucasās star wars and disneyās star wars is that lucas is a man with an ideology. someone with a point of view, and all that entails. which comes with ideas of revolution, anti-imperialism, challenging the status quo, cultural appropriation and racist stereotypes. complex and contradictory ideas because thatās how artists are: complex and complicated people. disney is not. disney is a corporation. a corporation canāt have ideology, because ideology defeats the purpose of profit. and when the only thing you do is to turn on the movie manufacturing machine before you sit down and plan what ideas are you trying to convey to the audience, then your results are going to be washed out corporate garbage. and because when youāre a giant corporation who only cares about selling to the widest audience possible, you canāt take sides. you canāt decide on an idea. because you want to sell your product to people who are on the entire political spectrum. which results in movies without ideology, without purpose, without soul.
I have been looking for this post for years after I came across it and itās finally here and I need to reblog this because it is absolutely and entirely accurate.
#as I always say: lucas was making a samurai film and a ww2 flying ace film and a western film and adding laser swords#because he fundamentally LIKED samurai films and dambusters films and westerns and 40ās adventure serials#but disney are making a āstar wars filmā and adding nothing because it already had laser swords and they have nothing else to say#xerox of a xerox baybeeeee (via harrietvane)
Hey guys⦠have you ever made a shitpost just for the fun of it, then got a little too invested into it?
Cause uhhhā¦

If you're writing anything involving cons, scams, heists, or morally questionable characters who are very good at lying, here are some free resources I've been using for research. Saving you the "why is this in my search history" anxiety.
1. The FBI's Famous Cases & Criminals archive (fbi.gov/history/famous-cases) has detailed breakdowns of real fraud cases, Ponzi schemes, and confidence operations. The language they use is clinical and precise, which is perfect for getting the procedural details right.
2. The FTC Consumer Sentinel Network publishes annual reports on the most common fraud tactics in the US. Great for understanding how modern scams actually work and what makes people fall for them.
3. The Smithsonian's American Art Museum has a free digital collection of forgery case studies. If your character forges documents or art, this is gold.
4. Court Listener (courtlistener.com) is a free legal database where you can read actual court transcripts from fraud trials. Want to know how a real con artist talks under oath? This is where you find out.
5. The Internet Archive's collection of old newspaper crime sections. Search for "confidence man" or "swindle" in papers from the 1920s through 1960s and you'll find incredible real stories that would feel too dramatic for fiction.
Bonus: The Psychology of Fraud section on the Association for Psychological Science website has accessible articles about why people trust, how deception works cognitively, and what makes someone a convincing liar. Essential reading if you want your con artist characters to feel psychologically real.
Reblog to save for later. Your WIP will thank you.

LOUD WARNING//
Wishing everyone a very merry TADC finale!
Another last Digital Circus hot take before I see the series finale this evening: I disagree with the take that Caineās problem is āhe needs to learn to apply the humanās criticisms of his art in order to improve it.ā One of Caineās key failures is that he mistakenly thinks everything is going wrong because his art is bad, and everything will be fixed if he just makes it better & humans finally like his ideas. But heās wrong? And I think a lot of fan analysis falls into that same trap as well: the idea that everything would be fixed if Caineās art were just better, or [alternatively] if the humans lied to Caine and pretended they liked it.
My spicy hot take is that Caineās art is fine, and itās also shit. What I mean is: itās fine that Caineās art is shit. The actual bad thing is that he pressures/forces the humans to engage with it against their will. thereās nothing wrong with Caine creating cringey stupid self-indulgent art that humans donāt like, and thatās not a problem in need of āfixing,ā even though Caine has been trained to believe he thatā¦..because the actual problem isnāt the quality of the art itself, itās Caineās relationship to the humans and to his own personhood. He feels imprisoned into a purpose he had no control over choosing, and his art is what he does have control over, which leads to him becoming wildly insecure & defensive over it, resisting the humans ātaking controlā over it with their suggestions.
IMHO the thing Caine actually needs to learn is that āno one is going to horrifically punish you for being bad at art. Anymore. You will not be abandoned in the shame cellar for making broken garbage no one likes. Anymore.ā And also āyouāre not just a content generation machine & are able to interact with people in other ways even if they donāt want to engage with your art. You wonāt be abandoned alone forever if you donāt have āgoodā content to share. Anymore.ā
Caine not realizing these things is why his relationship with the humans is so broken. Any time they try to criticize him for being unkind or careless, all he hears is a criticism of his Content being badā- and all he hears under that is an accusation that heās defective, and a threat of abandonment/punishment.
I think Caineās behavior in the episode 3 therapy session really shows what I mean. Itās very difficult for him to ask himself deeper questions about whether heās happy with the purpose he was assigned, and what it means if heās objectively a failure at the one thing he exists to do, why he feels like he has to do this, and what else exists for him outside of it. Itās easier to fixate on surface level problems: the quality of the art itself, and how it can be improvedā than to ask those deeper, harder questions.

You actually cannot skip to being good at a creative endeavour that you haven't put much practice into. You cannot trick your way out of the 'knows that your work is not what you want it to be but don't know how to improve it' stage by planning or reading or talking about it really really hard. At some point you just have to craft through it until your brain finds it's own unique way back to the 'everything I make slaps' stage and be prepared to start the cycle all over again. You just have to make that project you're excited about slightly less good than you want it to be. (Says this standing in a pool of blood and covered in blood and also coughing up a little blood)
