“It is common belief that whatever the situation, both sexes faced it alike. But the male peasant, however cruelly oppressed, always had the right to beat his wife.”
Rosalind Miles, "Who Cooked the Last Supper?"
could you even imagine the first time males mansplained creation to women… “actually, we are NOT here because of an endless chain of mothers like you giving birth going back eons in time. uhhhhh no … not at all. it really started when my bro this all powerful dude who lives in the sky made the first man and then a dumb woman who was TOTALLY inferior to him. yeah it’s surprising but legit. the wind told me when i was jerking off down by the river. i can’t prove any of this but if you don’t believe me i’ll kill you”

femaleness is the only thing that makes me a woman and being a woman is nothing other than my femaleness. anything and everything i do is ‘feminine’ because i am a woman doing it. there is so much freedom in letting go of gender stereotypes may every woman in the world rid themselves of these chains
if you enjoy hurting women and girls, including and especially sexually, you have to kill yourself there is no other option
women should get even more childless
haters will be mad bc you said women and didn’t mean men
how can you see homosexuals being punished by death or genital mutilation and think it’s somehow a progressive policy due to it being “affirming”

“The LEGO Movie was my favorite movie of 2014, but it strikes me that the main character was male, because I feel like in our current culture, he HAD to be. The whole point of Emmett is that he’s the most boring average person in the world. It’s impossible to imagine a female character playing that role, because according to our pop culture, if she’s female she’s already SOMEthing, because she’s not male. The baseline is male. The average person is male. You can see this all over but it’s weirdly prevalent in children’s entertainment. Why are almost all of the muppets dudes, except for Miss Piggy, who’s a parody of femininity? Why do all of the Despicable Me minions, genderless blobs, have boy names? I love the story (which I read on Wikipedia) that when the director of The Brave Little Toaster cast a woman to play the toaster, one of the guys on the crew was so mad he stormed out of the room. Because he thought the toaster was a man. A TOASTER. The character is a toaster. I try to think about that when writing new characters— is there anything inherently gendered about what this character is doing? Or is it a toaster?”
— Bojack Horseman creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg commenting on how weird gendered defaults in entertainment are, and why we should think twice about them. Excerpted from this longer original post. (via 360degreesasthecrowflies)
That's not good enough😡 She should be given an award😤
A 24-year-old woman, Tu Quyen Nguyen, avoided jail after taking part in a violent vigilante-style attack in Brisbane. She and three others targeted a 20-year-old man after learning he was a sexual predator.
The group ambushed the predator, beating him for several minutes, damaging his car, and threatening him not to go to police.
She was sentenced to three years in prison but granted immediate parole (meaning she did not have to serve time in custody) because the judge considered her a participant, not the instigator.
"For something society taught women to hide, menstrual blood might be one of the body’s most powerful healing tools.
Research led by Dr. Jemma Evans at the Hudson Institute of Medical Research found that plasma derived from menstrual fluid helped repair wounds significantly faster than standard blood plasma in lab models. In human skin cells, menstrual fluid plasma achieved complete wound closure within 24 hours, compared to about 40% healing with regular blood plasma.
The findings are surprising, but it also makes sense. The uterine lining is one of the only tissues in the human body capable of rapid, scar-free repair, regenerating month after month throughout a woman’s life. Researchers found that menstrual fluid contains unique proteins that help cells move quickly to damaged tissue and support faster regeneration.

“The first Gay Pride flag was made in 1978 by a man named Gilbert Baker. He gave a meaning to each color.”
