Ribbons from 19th century France
She can smell it.
anyone else notice how when "digital assistants" were just supposed to do specific tasks when you asked for them we had Alexa and Siri and Cortana, but now that they're being marketed as smart enough to take actions and make decisions on their own they've got names like Claude and Devin

one of the most despicable parts of male supremacy is the strategic refusal to acknowledge female oppression. you can never address a problem it nobody admits it exists. there is no guilty party if we ignore the problem.
you will watch the news and see story after story of a woman being killed by a man but no one will call it femicide. you will hear statistic after statistic about women being raped/assaulted/trafficked by men but no one will call it misogyny. you hear songs and watch shows where men are degrading and abusing women but nobody blinks. there’s a “male loneliness epidemic” narrative but not a “female suffering crisis” narrative.

"my opposition wants to deny (X) because accepting it would harm their conclusion" "my conclusion relies on (X) not existing, and i have evidence to prove it" "see! exactly what i told you. denying (X)"
this doesn't prove if X exists or not, and doesn't invalidate evidence that it doesn't; it just sounds like it does. this is a fallacious argument.
the most despicable part of globe-supremacy is the strategic refusal to acknowledge the sphere conspiracy. you can never address the earth being flat if nobody admits it is

pre-empting obvious response: "okay but female oppression actually happens and so does its denial!" a conclusion being true doesn't make the argument not fallacious.
in other words this is an argument that can only work if you both already believe it and have no idea how fallacies work.

...is femicide when a woman is killed by a man with no other qualifiers? (some laws actually do that) can't be, that would imply that either women are more human than men (homicide gets a longer sentence than animal cruelty) or that men are less human (we imprison humans for biting people and kill dogs) alternatively, femicide is equally as bad as homicide, in which case why are we bringing it up?
if there are other qualifiers, like motivation or intimate partner or because misogyny or something, then... well, maybe the women being killed by men isn't called femicide because it isn't.
of course this is a propaganda piece so i can't expect it to give a precise definition, but still
*also most of the femicide topic runs into the "straight men don't kill their pregnant cis male boyfriends because of misogyny" problem i've gone over previously, so be aware of that before
*"femicide is improperly punished" runs into the issue of sentencing actually being harsher for male perpetrators and female victims
*also, note that journalist reporting of something is entirely unrelated to how commonly something happens. and when it does to getting jumped by a serial killer for going outside, that's always going to be majority men.
you will hear statistic after statistic about women being raped/assaulted/trafficked by men but no one will call it misogyny.
"disproportionately affects people who are female because they are female" is very subtly distinct from "specifically targets women because they hate women"
i've already linked this essay, but another way to think about it is saying that "nobody ever kicks a woman in the nuts because of misandry"
also known as "it's always a man" implies "it always happens to a woman" because men are heterosexual
i know it sounds like a nitpick, but if you can't separate bias against women from biological differences you'll never be able to accurately solve problems, might end up making them worse, will certainly end up pissing literally everyone else off and cause your entire movement to blow up in your face, and might genuinely drive your entire civilization extinct.
you hear songs and watch shows where men are degrading and abusing women but nobody blinks.
see there you go, it's not that hard to bring up something that's actually easy to prove. now just... prove it's happening
nah i'm not using data here either, you get this one
there’s a “male loneliness epidemic” narrative but not a “female suffering crisis” narrative.
ah yes, over the past 50 years society has been run by neomarxist meninnist movements who create laws in every country with an actual economy. "female rights activists" are all delulu far rightoids (despite being another branch of neomarxist) who genuinely believe the matriarchy has already been toppled and that women can actually have their own problems.
what alternate fucking universe do you live in where feminism doesn't exist??? what do you think feminists even are? what have they been doing this whole time???
go outside, touch grass, and re-learn what feminism is, because i'm pretty sure you lost the plot.
how do you have the time for this shit 😭
i really won the geography lottery by not being american OR european. potentially my biggest flex genuinely. i can make fun of all of u equally
From The Female Man by Joanna Russ (1975).
Postmodernism has people like everything is okay as long as nobody is harmed btw ive changed the definition of harm and the criteria is very high now. And it’s ok to hurt people if they’re damaged enough to want to be hurt. We have no responsibility to not hurt people. But if you say words I personally think are bad that’s literally the worst possible thing one could do and you’re a fascist now. Like people will literally defend incest and then denounce someone as a fascist for using the word “degenerate” we genuinely live in the craziest society possible

The notion that straight people who approach sex unconventionally are comparable to gay people is predicated on a conception of gayness as sexual deviance. It’s homophobic.

also, one of the exhausting things about discussing domestic violence is that of course so many people can concede lip service that it's "bad" etc. but what's revealing about how little they care, or that they don't prioritize it, or that they really do hold beliefs that women are meant to be abused is that they often are not ready to discuss what is the most common pattern of abuse, and that is escalation. the end point of that escalation is murder. it's like...I'm not going to be cowed into thinking this is an intellectual question, or that I'm just interested in some sort of ideological project. I can look people in the eye and ask them "do you care when women are murdered?" and I don't feel conflicted about it. women are murdered. Women are murdered! when men get away with one punch, they start getting away with two. on and on. I think it's an emergency when women are punched. I don't care what anyone's beliefs are at that point. men are allowed to be our judge, jury, and executioner? at their own whims? why am I supposed to sit comfortably with that.
many people clearly believe that for the benefit of the community, women must simply absorb male violence. that it's their role in the community. that men are the community, and his violence needs to go somewhere acceptable. and the acceptable place is at her.
That one tweet that was like "we should scrap 95% of feminist theory so far because it's transphobic and wh*rephobic" vs that one post that was like "women are never allowed to build a literary/religious/theoretical canon for themselves because it's always forcibly reinvented every 30 years, women have no connection to or knowledge of feminist theory that has been formulated for literal centuries, all the while males have their revered Enlightenment philosophers and their Aristotle and Socrates and nobody is taking them away from men no matter how society changes or how "problematic" they were" and I'm too tired to formulate this more coherently but the truth is women and feminism are always suspended on thin ice with no celebrated intellectual heritage and tradition despite the fact that it obviously exists, and this is such a huge way women are alienated and disempowered
