How do you find time and inspiration to make your art??? I want to create too but never now how to start.
<3 tbh I don’t feel like I have a lot of time/energy for art right now. But I was able to do a couple pieces recently and for them I just had to get them started (figure out what I’m making, gather supplies) and then I just worked on them during my Sitting in bed Resting time when I would usually be scrolling on my phone. When I was in undergrad though I was able to take a reduced course load because I wanted to have time to make art among other things. Having structure can be helpful where you set aside a time in your week for art, or doing a challenge type thing like inktober.
For inspiration, i love my pinterest and all the artists i follow on instagram. I’ll see something and go I want to make something like that, but in my own style or with a different idea etc. Personally i like to play with different mediums so i’ll think about what medium would be coolest for a certain idea/design/phrase. Collage is fun because you can play with inspiration and try stuff out in a really tactile way. I keep a note on my phone for any fleeting art ideas. If I’m scared to get started with materials for a big project I’ll spend time mocking it up digitally. Everyone says this but often you just have to start even if you don’t feel perfectly inspired.
