You ever really listen to the lyrics to "the night the lights went out in georgia?" Nobody in that song behaves in a way that makes sense
The first thing that happens is the guy's friend tells him his wife is having an affair with "that amos boy, seth" and the guy starts to get mad and his friend is like "calm down! don't fly off the handle! If we're keeping it real I also fucked your wife!"
He goes to his friend's house with a gun to kill him but finds him already dead and his immediate reaction is to call the cops to report the murder of the guy he was about to murder, instead of simply leaving. He does so by firing his gun in the air knowing the cops would hear it and come running. The narrator of the song blames the lawyer and the judge for convicting the man who went to the victim's house with a gun and intent to kill him and was found standing over the body, which had been shot to death, with a smoking gun. The narrator blames the legal system despite the fact that she herself did the murders the guy was executed for
The actual killer was the guy's sister and killed his wife and friend for cheating on him, but apparently took no action against Seth Amos, who really dodged a bullet here
Reverse Hallmark movie where a culturally Christian woman who’s struggling to make ends meet to support her deadbeat conservative husband delivers Chinese food to a pretty Jewish woman on Christmas Eve. And they fall in love and she converts and they get married under the chuppah on the following year’s Christmas Day. And it becomes their lesbian anniversary and they never celebrate Christmas again. Is this anything
It's something I desperately want, so yes.
There's this really obscure forgotten DC hero named the Heckler, who's basically buggs bunny as a superhero, not having any powers or physically strong, but just really good at pissing people off until they accidentally deal with themselves.
Now they're interesting, but the REAL star of the show is one of his villains, John Doe the Generic Man, who's this guy in a stark white suit with flat pink unshaded, untextured skin with no features or anything who talks like chatGPT and has black text over his face that explains what he's feeling at the moment. That guy is fucking fascinating.
Similar vibes as The Disappointment from Gerard Way's run on Doom Patrol

I don't think dust needs to exist personally
I really love this website and the people on it a lot
Me, a Jew: I understand that you don't personally believe in a higher power, and that you celebrate Christmas in ways that feel secular to you, but Christmas is an inherently Christian holiday. Even if your particular traditions aren't rooted in explicit religious practice, the holiday can't be divorced from its Christian roots. I'm happy for my friends to invite me to join them in celebration (just as I, a Jew am happy to invite my gentile friends to join me in my Sukkah, or in celebrating Purim), and I'm happy to engage in these rituals as a guest. But I will never see them as secular traditions, and I would like for people to stop acting like I should see them as such, or trying to pretend like it's a mystery why I don't want to put up "Hanukkah lights" on my house.
Atheist gentiles, for some fucking reason: Did you know that Christmas trees are actually Pagan?
crazy how the printer is the only piece of tech that acts up like that almost every day of its life. and we just accept it
i don't think i've ever met a printer that actually wanted to be a printer. i think most printers have dreams of being on the stage
Polycule but it’s just two people in a romantic relationship with each other and their third who’s pretty obviously aroace but also somehow so deeply intertwined in their lives that it’d just be wrong to not count them as involved. Is this anything.

"Your son will take your throne from you," they prophesized, spitting each word out of teeth clenched tight with hatred. Why they'd bother prophesizing such an event befuddles you; your son is literally your chosen heir, after all.
Years later, you realize what the prophets meant. For most of your life your son was your pride and joy; an academic, who would surely lead the kingdom into greater health and wellness. Until he committed the ultimate act of betrayal.
"You will not take my throne from me!" You cling to your grand chair so hard your knuckles turn white.
Your son sighs. "Dad. Dad it's lead-"
"Of course it's lead! It's a strong metal, signifying the strength of our country- this throne has been passed down the royal line for 300 years, 15 rulers before me-"
"That is not enough time for that many people!" Your son throws his hands up in the air. "Because it is lead! It is poisoning you! Didn't you wonder why grandpa died at 40?"
"Ah, pfoo! That's the ancestral curse."
"It's the throne! The throne is the ancestral curse!!!"
to raise money, Wikipedia should do that thing CNN did where they sold shirts with headlines on them. I would kill for a shirt that had the article title and Wikipedia layout for Homosexuality in Medieval Europe
realism in video games
So the thing about Willow to me is that she so so so desperately wants a sacred magical destiny. She wants the burden, the purpose, the power. Buffy, Giles, and Jenny all have different flavors of an inescapable death sentence that has completely taken over their lives and autonomy. All she sees is this great big importance and specialness, despite all of them being vocal at the fact they want to be normal people. She takes Giles’s warnings and scolding of magic usage as him thinking she cant handle it when in reality it is him trying to save her from what ultimately was nearly his (and soon to nearly be her!) demise. But To her that burden is a blessing that she wants so badly to have and be recognized for. She tries so hard to force a magical destiny and importance that she nearly destroys all the relationships she has

everyone can do anything they want forever & also FUCK I HATE THAT HEADCANON SO MUCH!!!!!!!!
the trick is to never let anyone realize what headcanon it is unless they're your close personal friend, & to write a bunch of fic that contradicts it without it being obvious that's what you're doing
