#this is why I LOVE the first millennium book and the others less#girl with the dragon tattoo is a detective story that includes ZERO COPS and it’s GREAT!#it gives you two legit investigator types (an investigative journalist and a hacker/PI) with NO police involved it's so satisfying#the subsequent books bring in police and try to show a nuanced view of cop detectives BUT imho it's not nearly as satisfying to read#like narratively i get why larsson HAD TO introduce cop characters into the later books (current/emerging violent crimes happening etc)#but the cop-centered subplots are my least favorite parts of the series#like i appreciate and (mostly) align with the commentary that it's making about cops but it's just not ENTERTAINING#myr tag#oc mo tag#oc quasar tag
