It’s chaos, be kind, exist out of spite!

my parents: tell us what to do! someone should totally go with you! which hospital do you want to go to? guide us on how to help you! give us a detailed list! we can't problem solve around our kid's emergency without explicit instructions because we're baby fainting goats during any crisis scenario!

me: i dont have the bandwidth for all those questions im gonna lie on the floor and make an emergency PT appt

my younger sister who lives hours away: *I* will come take you to the ER (i turned her down bc it’s a ridiculous thing for me to ask of her especially for a dislocation i've had before)

me on the phone with my mom, obviously crying: i'm having a really bad day and i'm really uncomfortable

my mom: oh well i'd better hang up on you right now and make sure the flower shop i sent u flowers via knows u got the delivery for ur birthday

me: the flowers were ok i guess but i would like medical attention for my birthday

me texting my parents again days later: hey it's still a persistent problem so im gonna do another emergency PT appt

my dad: "Oof, sorry to hear that."

my younger sister who is a medical professional but lives several states away: WHY AREN'T YOU PEOPLE REACTING WITH ANY SENSE OF URGENCY

me: i'm really freaked out
