Lol I am having flashbacks to Gwennie of blessed memory, who was a tiny scrap of black silk and high dudgeon like a Victorian widow ready to slap a man (or tomcat) for looking at her funny (the first time my little brother met her, she hissed at him and he looked at me and said 'so she steers the broom then?') For the most part, she was almost sinisterly quiet and elusive until she developed hyperthyroid. We discovered this when she grabbed a mighty chunk of corned beef STEAMING hot from the oven resting before slicing. She galloped dragging it between her forepaws like a tiny lioness down the basement stairs and howled like a banshee when I went to try and retrieve it so my other two feline idiots staring in wonder at what was happening wouldn't get any Foolish Notions.

She crashed pretty hard from all that salt, and between that and the uncharacteristic theft and screaming about it earned herself a vet trip, at which she got a diagnosis and a trip to the radioactive iodine facility (difficult to have her away for 10 days but I do think sending her for a curative Sanitarium Retreat was better for both of us than the daily violation of her tiny dignity that pilling her for the rest of her life would have been)
