you absolutely are allowed to ask for encouragement. art cannot exist within an echo chamber! it needs artists and writers uplifting and inspiring eachother to improve and create.

i think that writing for your own enjoyment is incredibly important. if you are writing something that you would want to read, something that you’re passionate about, a trope you love, a character you love— the right people will see that passion! that’s what art is all about, baybee! as my close personal friend mia dolan from the hit movie la la land says, “people love what other people are passionate about.”

at the end of the day, it’s important to remember that writing is a skill. like all skills, it requires practice, and working muscles in new ways that will often feel awkward: especially if you’re new to it, or haven’t done it in a while. the best possible thing you could do is just do it. write it. even if it’s “shitty”. even if you hate it when it’s done.

after you write, and you find yourself thinking negatively about the work, give your brain a little break. go watch a movie or read a book, or something else that inspires you and encourages you to do something creative. when you come back to the writing you did, you will either (a) know how to improve it, or (b) realize it isn’t actually as bad as you thought. (at least that’s how it works out in my experience.)

I was wondering if you were comfortable with podfics being made of your works? I would only post here on ao3, with credit, and with only my real human voice (fuck ai). no shade at all if you aren't comfortable with it, but if you are I would love to make a podfic for this story! let me know :) either way, thank you for writing such a cute story!!!
