johnny storm was never really afraid of bugs. he didn’t like him, but he didn’t really care, you know? and then he meets peter, and he learns to loves spiders actually. he scoops them up to take them outside, and he’s so careful to keep his temp low so he doesn’t hurt them. and he learns about them because learning things is how he shows peter he cares. he listens to lectures about biology and chemistry and he sends peter the little details he remembers. so yeah he learns about spiders too. it’s cool, whatever. but then everything happens. annihilus, and the healer worms, and the resurrecting. he comes back, and fuck, the first time he saw a bug afterwards— he’s throwing up, he’s itching at his skin like he’s trying to tear it off, he’s sick. peter spends the whole night assuring him he’s fine, he’s all in one piece, he’s alright.
