I downloaded this and it got me through a 4 hour long flight. I found out there was no screen as we were boarding and I hastily downloaded the whole series. We literally invented so many different farming techniques that actually DO allow year round crops that are typically grown seasonaly or in different climates. The Andes people in Peru were doing climate controlled agriculture hundreds of years ago!

They had tiered often circular (circular worked best for climate control) farms. This not only gave them flat ground to work with but allowed easy watering. They built each tier with stone walls that soak up the heat and release it at night, protecting them from sudden frosts.

And most importantly each tier was a microclimate! With the lower ones being warmer! I was lucky enough to see them in person and go to the bottom of one. It was so warm in winter!!

Ok so roads are important infrastructure. A lot of stuff that's important happens on roads. Now, let's imagine that quadrillionaire Matt Stench has decided that the next big tech innovation is the Wide Car. It's a car that takes up six lanes despite seating only one passenger.

The Wide Car is supposed to be the future, and everyone's going to be driving Wide Cars, even though nobody who makes Wide Cars is turning a profit. Employers are offering Wide Cars as an employee benefit, and getting "nah." Some employers are going as far as demanding their employees drive Wide Cars, and the result is that people take time out of their workdays to get in the mandatory gas usage for their Wide Car before driving home in a regular car.

In spite of the fact that the Wide Car is clearly set to fail, there's an enormous push to expand to twelve-lane roads to accommodate a bunch of Wide Cars that simply will not materialize. This is not an organic response to demand, but a speculative investment that amplifies the existing issues with road development for no good reason.

That is the problem.

Some days I remember that at my “inclusive” Montessori school the “transition class” (sped) kids didn’t have desks in the main classroom despite spending half our time there. AND we had to clean the classroom with everyone else after lunch once because it was a mess despite not being there all day.

(I you recognize this info yes it’s msp and if you were not sped just know we hated your asses.)

They also forced parents to not only leave some kids to stay after school for “homework help” despite our watcher not being a teacher and one was a random alumni. They charged our parents for this at an already expensive private school and didn’t tell the kids why. I got abandonment issues from that because I KNEW my mom could pick me up because she just retired to take care of my special needs.

the issue with jedi internal politics in rots is that they promoted anakin to upper level administration with all the requisite duties but refused to update the system or his staff id or give him a pay raise (the jedi title of master) to reflect this and so he still doesn't have access to the upper level admin exclusive staff lounge (jedi archives restricted section). does that make more sense to you

like it doesn't matter that it's palpatine who requested that promotion, the issue is just that anakin got promoted and got the requisite extra responsibilities but not the bonuses that would otherwise come with the new job
