I don't like it when hate finds its way into fandom tags. I never will. I don't want to see it, not even to see it opposed - because it still means seeing it in the first place if someone shares a screenshot of hate and argues against it (if you do that please don't tag it with main fandom tags or ship tags).
But apart from that I just don't care if some stranger on the internet hates what I love. Their opinion doesn't matter, it's just annoying to see. Even if a friend hates what I love I'd agree to disagree and just not talk about it further with them. There's plenty of other things to talk about with friends.
This could apply to any fandom, but it's specifically about RWBY, because it unfortunately has an active hatedom to the extent that I've lost count of how many tumblogs I've blocked to avoid seeing more hate.
I don't have the energy to waste on hate, and even if I did I hope I wouldn't waste my limited time alive on it (I'm chronically ill, not terminally, I'm just aware none of us know exactly when we die).
I'd rather use what time and energy I have on other things, like fic to write (and hopefully fic to read and leave comments for), and fan art to admire and reblog (and say something in the tags about what I love, I gather most artists appreciate that).
Ever since a gif of Bumbleby kissing crossed my dash, RWBY has been a precious highlight in my life. It brought me new friends and a beloved girlfriend. It will always be a good thing to me.
I realise no matter what I say, haters are going to hate. I'll just keep blocking, and maybe I'll stop seeing most of it. Sure, they're entitled to their opinions, but I'm also entitled to my own, and I don't owe them my time and attention.
(To be clear, I see blocking as a neutral act. It's not an attack. It just helps me avoid seeing posts I don't want to see)
I will always reblog this
still remember how revolutionary this ad felt 10 years ago
excuse me but it still feels revolutionary
Keep reblogging until it feels normal everywhere.
For context: this came out in 2011 in Australia. Same-sex marriage would not be legalized until December 2017.
It was only legalized in 8 US states (the 8th only a few months before), and wouldn’t be legalized nation-wide until 2015.
It was only legal in TEN COUNTRIES in 2011. We wouldn’t hit 20 countries until 2017. (Australia was 23rd)
As of today (April 14, 2026), I believe only 38 countries have fully legalized same-sex marriage. Out of somewhere around 200 countries in the world. That’s only ~19% of countries.
This is still revolutionary.

Drawing a character for every day of Pride, 2026 edition
Day 1: starting, as always, with the best girl in the whole universe
Rumi: Why are there so many sticky notes on my water bottle?
Mira: So you remember to hydrate.
Zoey: We're worried about you, Rumi
Rumi: Was this many really necessary?
Mira: Yes
Zoey: Every single one is important.
Rumi: You guys sound like you could be my parents.
Zoey: That’s not the vibe we’re going for.
Mira: Not even close...
Rumi always deserves a snackie 👆
like the betrayal’s always going to be worse if they cared about you and it didn’t matter. someone discards you because they didn’t give a shit, then you can be angry about that, you can feel vindicated in that, you can get over it. but if they can look you in the eyes and say “I love you. I would make the same choice again.” You will never sleep peacefully again, is all.
“I thought they cared about me, but they were lying this whole time.” <- tired. boring. removes all the nuance of this relationship to make it easier to move on from.
“I thought they cared about me, and I was right, and every minute they were there for me, every time they said they were proud, every laugh we shared leaning against each other bruised and breathless, all of it was real. and they still left me behind. They could put their love aside. I couldn’t.” <- insane. will never leave you alone. reminds you that even the worst people are still people and can still care about even the ones they hurt the most and that undoes neither the harm nor the love.

Reblog to cast healing for your homies.
Text of tweet under the cut because it is loooong.
But... Stochastic Parrots.
This is the paper. It's excellent, highly recommend reading it.
I remember reading about Gebru's firing but I had no idea this was the paper she was fired over.
"So you collect ghosts?"
"Not intentionally. Ghosts are just drawn to me. I'm a ghost sponge. A ghost magnet. When I'm hired to check out a haunted house, I walk in and take all the ghosts with me when I leave. And if it turns out there's a demon the ghosts eat 'em. It's a very efficient system."
"...Say that last part again."
"The ghosts eat the demons. Like a pack of hyenas taking down a wildebeest. I've seen the ghost of a 90-year-old Ukrainian babushka tear apart a demon with her teeth."
"Wouldn't that be the other way around? I thought demons would be more powerful than ghosts."
"One ghost, sure. But they're never prepared to take on fifty ghosts at once. Especially if I bring Olga."
bumbleby week day 3! proposal!! this took so long to do my hand hurts,,, but enjoy

If Spider-Gwen had a bi flag on her wall there wouldn’t be any debate as to whether or not she was really bi
“Oh but I think that it’s that her version of Peter was trans so that’s why—”
This conversation would not exist if it was a bi flag or a pan flag or an ace flag
Why are you so eager to convince yourself that she’s not a trans woman? Why is that?
“I don’t mind characters being trans but I hate that it’s made their whole personality can’t it just be that they’re trans and the narrative doesn’t have the call all this attention to it? Just let it be subtly there”
Aight here’s a trans woman who’s narrative is thematically linked with her transness in a way that enriches both her story, her characterization, and the story around her who doesn’t ever mention that she’s trans (but y’know she has a trans flag in her room in the background subtly like you asked)
“Uhhhh yeah she isn’t trans where does it say that she’s trans and also why would it matter that she’s trans? Stop projecting yourself onto fictional characters”
I bet some of y’all think the message of Moby Dick is that we should kill whales
the story inherently had two options.
either the character who is trans is the one who is constantly put down, becomes someone else which results in them becoming a literal reptilian monster and then immediately dying.
OR
the literal deuteragonist who dresses like a trans flag, has to come out to a parent, finds someone like her that she can feel safe around, and warps reality around her into trans colors.
what do you think the better story is?
third option, both are trans, and each are a different allegory to how trans women are treated in media. one became a "monster", and the other became a "murderer". when from their own perspectives one just tried to make her own estrogen and accidentally made something dangerous, and one tried to save her friend but instead had to watch her friend die young in her arms. one passes well but is still seen as dangerous and nobody knows who she really is, and one is grieved as a dead boy who nobody ever got to really know.
gwen is much more obviously trans, but parker is also one, sad, desperate, misunderstood, unfortunate, and dead and quickly forgotten as anything but a victim of another trans woman.
she just wanted to be like gwen.
like to charge, reblog to cast.
