"zoey, what the fuck—" mira steps back until she finds a wall hitting her back.
zoey is glancing around the parking lot, though the sheer amount of cars renders them invisible. and their own, parked in the corner in which mira was just, well, cornered into, is a hefty SUV blocking their line of sight.
when zoey looks at her, her eyes are wide. fear or nerves or something similar. which is weird since nothing happened today that would warrant this, unless mira had missed something, which would make her a pretty suckass friend—
"will you go on a date with me?"
time stops. the breath mira has pulled in pauses in the middle of her throat as she processes the question.
she cannot help herself, and she snickers because maybe, just maybe, she was waiting for this. she caught the signs, damn it, she wasn't blind (no matter how much zoey and rumi insisted that she was).
"i mean, if i absolutely have to."
zoey catches the smirk pulling on her face and smacks her shoulder, joining in on the light laughter.
"oh my god, would it kill you to not be sarcastic for even one second?" she lets out a big exhale, as if she was holding it since the day began.
and mira considers that for a second. and she knows zoey has no idea what cogs spin in her mind, what stupid and tooth-rottingly sweet thoughts roll around the plains of her mind all day.
she smiles, "alright, zo," and caves in, "i would actually love to go on a date with you. it's long overdue, i think."
"oh, yeah?" zoey leans into her ever so slightly, "any other great thoughts?"
mira notices. she can't not notice that perfume getting stronger as she inches closer. she can't not notice her blood burning under her skin at the proximity. and so, like a magnet being pulled, she leans in, too.
"mm, just you on my mind at the moment."
that earns her a kiss. she knew it would.
