some people give maddie a lot of flack for “crying too much” or being “too emotional” or whatever that means. which like i’m not gonna criticise you for your own character pet peeves. but also maddie han get behind me. because she spent most of her life not being able to let other people know how felt about her dead brother. and then she was married to a man who would prey on her weaknesses. her being emotional and vulnerable has come after years of it being used against her. and yet she is still to open and empathetic about it. i LOVE her. i hope she cries more. when she’s happy, when she’s sad, when she’s angry, during sex, whenever she can because she can.

hahaha so this is a short, very short snippet. There is such a long story behind why but to keep it brief, this week has been crazy, I forgot about the poll on monday I was going to run to see which wip I should work on so I decided I would work on the teacher one again since that won last time, and even tho I made that decision, I then proceed to not actually write until tonight when I randomly opened tumblr, saw Ari the Magellanic penguin chick (yes full name and capitalization for respect on his name), felt I had to reblog it then remembered oh shit it's wednesday. so. that was not as short as I hoped. anyway, here's what i'm working on, hopefully i'll have a full chapter done on friday. IF WORK EVER DECIDES TO ACTUALLY FUCKING GET BACK TO ME

Well, for some reason, Eddie was refusing to call it a ball even though it was in the name -

"I don't care, Buck. It just sounds so ridiculous. I'm not a 'ball' or 'gala' person."

Which Buck had strongly disagreed with but he wasn't getting into that argument again. And definitely not with the Eddie in his head. That always veered into Not Safe For Work territory. No. He was not going to embarrass him as this fancy firefighter's ball.

Everyone was dressed to the nines. Eddie looked downright sinful in his dress uniform. So, really - "Like you're one to talk. Have you seen you?"

He grinned back at Buck, nudging his shoulder back before resting it there. Buck desperately wanted to hold his hand. Rest his head on Eddie's. Turn toward him, toward the line of heat he was providing, press closer and absorb it -

But he couldn't. He couldn't for another month that was going by so slowly.

And he really couldn't under the watchful eye of Hen and Karen. Every time they caught his eye, it was like they knew exactly what he was thinking. He always was the first to look away. This time was no exception as he quickly turned, taking in the fancy ballroom they were in.

"No. Do I look like some sort of Disney prince to you?"

Buck could not answer Fake Eddie's question. He knew right away where that was gonna go so he quickly shut down the argument.

buck and eddie canonically sing in the car together which means. established relationship or dating or married or whatever buddie with buck driving (one handed because they’re obviously holding hands over the center console)(they can’t rest their hands in each others laps when they’re driving anymore because of The Incident)(The Incident being an act of distracted driving caused by eddie’s hand on bucks thigh while he was driving)(it was so egregious eddie had to sit in the backseat for two weeks after this for fear of it happening again)(anyways not the point just remember they’re crazy.) and they’re singing and dancing and laughing and then eddie pulls their joined hands up to his mouth to mime holding a microphone. and yes he does kiss bucks knuckles while they’re right there because why wouldn’t he? and anyway then buck has to pull over to kiss eddie stupid about it because otherwise they ARE going to actually crash the car.

Henrietta has to be the most tired because I bet she had the conversation with Bobby and Maddie where they just agree not to talk about the elephant in the room. Ever since Bobby died she is now alone with these two and just at the brink of wanting to point out they are gay for each other. It's becoming harder and harder each day.
