long story short: i need help paying my car insurance this month. i was SO close to being able to pay for it myself but i missed a few days of working (i do doordash/food deliveries in general right now) bc of the heat or the storms or just not making enough that day to put more gas in my car.

i'm hoping to get at least $40 but literally anything will do. i'm going to try to go out this evening when its not so hot, but im low on gas and its apparently going to rain again, so, everything is up in the air and i might not even make anything. (i literally made nothing on sunday and i was out for almost 5 hours😭)

Throwing together a quick chart, I compiled the WOC characters (with lines and have some impact on story lines) who are working in the hospital in whatever capacity across seasons 1 and 2, and should have a reason to return each season if the writing actually accommodated it.

Realistically Noelle won't be back since her and Robby were officially done at the end of S2, Joy was confirmed to be in maybe an episode or 2 so she could be thrown in the gone category for how little presence she'll have, Shamsi by default has to take a reduced role (if she's even included at all) with Javadi having a reduced role for S3.

Side note: in both Seasons 1 and 2 we had 4 WOC as part of the main cast:

S1: Collins, Mohan, Santos, Javadi

S2: Mohan, Santos, Javadi, Al-Hashimi

Unless they have someone else joining that they haven't announced yet we are officially down to 3 being in the main cast

the patterns are patterning here and the pitt is definitely keeping realism alive by treating the woc (and especially the black women) as disposable

Exams during our festival season while every other religion gets their days off. Told to speak English when many of us in the diaspora already do (thanks colonialism!). Made to take English exams or considered international students on the basis of our names. Overlooked in job applications. Blamed for climate change. Blamed for lack of jobs. Uncredited for simple things everyone does nowadays. Coconut oil, miswak, mehndi, indigo, the number 0, banking cheques, chess, yoga, chakras, third eye, evil eye, turmeric, clean girl aesthetic, lost wax casting, bindis, kohl, dupattas, bangles, courtyards in houses, paisley, the very concept of rebirth and reincarnation. I could go on.

The racism towards Indians is so entrenched in every single western culture that nobody bothers to look twice when India suffers a heat wave. You all love Greece and Rome but did you know they directly benefitted from trade with the Indian subcontinent? Did you know Indians were taken as indentured labourers too? Did you know we were slaves too? And I’m speaking for South Asia as a whole here, did you know many of us are still slaves?
