Then she gendered it and tells me about how "she" scans this client's face daily and tells her "exactly what she needs" based on her skin and hair type and skin tone, etc.. This last time I saw this woman, she told me she's given chatgpt pretty much her entire biometric profile for the sake of helping her diagnose herself and pick out her medications....she says things like "she knows me so well" and it's so jarring."

We do not and never have had a military discount! They kept saying they had seen it online, they were owed an additional 10% off their multi-hundred dollar espresso machine! We told them if they could find it on our website specifically they could have it. They left angry."

And then this last weekend, someone mentioned GOOGLE GEMINI! Saying "your website is different than what Google Gemini is saying, that's confusing". And i was floored. Like... MAYBE TRUST THE BUSINESSES WEBSITE, and not an ai generated prompt?? Huhhhh?? My boss, did the prompt once just to check wtf was up, and BOY did it just bs hours, had us as open on days we are closed, etc. And now i know, all of these people who've had issues are using ai. Like, so sad."

I told them our arrangements will look different bc the flowers in the photo aren't real and the ones that are there are not the proper scale nor will they withstand this heat. franken.twink: "I work in dme and had a guy come in asking for a resupply for his cpap with a list of made up item id's and part numbers. When I pointed it out and that we had like, his actual resupply list in our system, he just shrugged and said that's what chatgpt said he needed..just, bro"

I have to explain that the haircut will never look identical to what they prompted because it isn't real; it's not a real hair texture, that's not how layers work - even stuff like how chat won't take into account their cowlicks or the density of their hair, etc. And every time it's met with stubbornness or hostility or the assumption that I can't do my job right because of this explicit case. it's ruining brains, it's making people codependent, and it's pissing me off"

temporalserpent: "I had this with some of the younger customers in my laundromat job where instead of reading the tags on their nicer clothes, they're relying on whatever ai app. So when they find out it ruined or shrank their clothes they get upset. There's so much hand holding I need to do cause they're just anxious wrecks who HAVE to use ai for simple shit."

And a BREAKING UPDATE: The trial of Yorgen Fenech, the man accused of masterminding the assassination of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia (put respect on her name) began on July 1, 2026 and is ongoing - you can go watch coverage of it.

The Degiorgio brothers pleaded guilty to carrying out the bombing and are serving 40-year prison sentences. The two suppliers of the bomb also received life sentences.

Others involved (middlemen, etc) have received a variety of reduced aentences and pardons based on their participation and testimony to take down Yorgen Fenech.

The former prime minister of Malta, Vincent Muscat, resigned and trials are ongoing.

The absolutely pervasive mentality that unwanted criticism or critique shouldn't be given and should be ignored is why fans of color don't stay in fan spaces.

And I am not going to mince words here:

A lot of you are racist. A lot of your fan works are racist.

That might have been difficult to hear. And if it was, you should probably reflect on why that was.

"Fandom etiquette" has created a space where fans of color either bite our tongues and eventually leave or say something, get dogged on, and then eventually leave.

If I say "I am uncomfortable with fandom's tendency to write trans men as feminine and submissive" I do not mean "I think every person who writes feminine submissive trans men should be chased with pitchforks". I don't even mean "any cis-person who writes feminine or submissive trans men should be chased with pitchforks". I mean "I would like writers to seriously think about why this is so common, why they write that, and if it fairly and genuinely engages with what it means to be a trans man, or if they just think it's hot when submissive people have vaginas and didn't want to write omegaverse of m/f".

Similarly, when people say "fandom is systemically less interested in black characters, less willing to give flat black characters rich fanon than flat white characters, and less interested in black characters in ships", the response is not to explain why you, personally, just happen to like popular white guy in that fanon. Your job is to look at yourself and ask if you tend to "just happen to be more interested" in the popular white guy across fandoms, be honest, and start unpacking that. Sometimes it's easier to love the flat character who's already getting 10,000 fics with headcanons and art and meta.

If somebody says "I wish there were more gluten free options at the potluck. I hate always showing up and not finding anything I can eat*", they are not asking you to throw your cake in the trash and weep. They do not want to hear your long speech about how actually this is your grandmother's recipe, and you've tried it with rice flour actually, but it just didn't work. You think about what you can do, and you listen to how they feel.

By placing people like me, who have come to terms with being able to articulate the impact our abusive upbringings had on us, on this pedestal that you could never ever have access to, you're actually also hurting us. because you're refusing to understand that when you fight with us about "deserving it" or it having been "not that bad" you're making us relive the stage of our lives where we also thought that.
