I love environmental storytelling
Ita fucking hieroglyphs with you people
had a dream i was driving in the pokemon universe and something suddenly darted across the road and i ended up hitting a goddamn suicune. legendary reflexes though because i pulled out a pokeball and threw it out my window before she could run. caught her. said aloud "damn i wonder how often this happens." decided to immediately bring suicune out of her pokeball to check stats and i guess she could talk just like entei in that movie because the first thing she says is "ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME???"
The least surprising thing I saw about RWBY is the girl with gun gauntlets loses an arm. It probably happened differently but compacting gunpowder into the fist is probably not the safest way to keep your limbs.
Given the circumstances she actually lost it under, I feel kinda bad for chuckling.

Happy 13th Anniversary, RWBY!
Can honestly say you've changed my life. One of the handful of media that got me through early transition, connected me with some dear friends I have to this day and to my beautiful girlfriend.
Here's to whatever comes next!
guys. Guys please you're allowed to say big boy words. please we cannot keep just rolling with the sanitization of every space on the internet ok. you're allowed to say suicide. you're allowed to say porn. they're not bad words, they're just words.
also by ''censoring'' the words with silly spellings you're actually making it much harder for people to filter out. please just say Sex you don't have to call it woohoo like it's the fucking sims. i promise the Word Police aren't going to arrest you
it is saturday my dudes

If your system doesn't account for the fact that Parents Are Going To Be Abusive/Neglectful/Insufficient then it objectively sucks I'm sorry I don't make the rules
Monitored bank accounts for those under 18. Requiring parental consent for medical procedures. Parental controls on personal devices. "We won't teach this at school because parents are supposed to address it at home." Anything that puts all of the child's power onto the parents' hand, anything that assumes parents are going to inherently do enough of a good job no one else needs to interfer, every single one of these IS going to be used by controlling, neglectful or unprepared parents and already are, and if the system did not account for that very real, tangible, dangerous tendency, then it's not worth fucking anything. You shouldn't make things "for the youth"/with children in mind if you are going to overlook this painfully common aspect of their lives u_u
When those GPS trackers for cars were released, specifically advertised for parents to put in their child's car, I saw the ad on TV and said out loud, "God... I wonder how many abusive parents and spouses are gonna use that to keep their victims from escaping."
My dad was sat next to me and his eyes got big as saucers. He was so quiet when he replied solemnly, "I didn't even think about that... jesus christ, that's dark..." and I had to tell him I had friends who were probably gonna end up in that situation with their conservative parents. He was so removed from the notion of using that device for cruelty that he didn't even CONSIDER it! That's how easily people can be bought in by inventions/legislation advertised under the guise of "keeping the kids safe". My own father, who is a beautiful and gentle man with a good head on his shoulders, was ready to advocate for a tracking device, because it was sold as a device to "protect children".
Children need more protections from abusers, yes, but the biggest protection they could possibly have is AUTONOMY. GIVE CHILDREN AUTONOMY.
I hate it when a game pretends to be something else and then when you play it turns out it’s secretly a match 3 game.
I love match 3 games as much as the next girl who played bejeweled on my browser and had candy crush on my iPod touch but does EVERY mobile game have to be one
continuing the mobile game adventures: I fucking hate how many ads these bitches try to cram in here.
So what you're saying is that in order to have an uncomfortable emotional conversation with Cass you must first get her onto a submarine and lower it to the edge of crush depth.
Who wants to bet Barbara has actually tried that and it still didn’t work?
*Alarms wail, water rushes in*
Oh look, now Cass needs to save people, a distraction!
So looking back it's surprising Joyce's parents let her dress as Wonder Woman considering the characters ties to pagan gods.
That's not how normies think of Wonder Woman. She's just Lady Superhero. She dresses up in the American Flag, like Superman. Joyce's parents' point of reference would've been Superfriends or the Linda Carter tv show.
The biggest hurdle was doing Halloween at all, and the costume (and participation) was at Jocelyne's insistance.

apparently i’m a millennial woman
I mean, yeah, valid! but but but I also want to add on the fact that lotr AGGRESSIVELY rejects the “grimdark” and “gritty” settings that is so prevalent in fantasy (and also in general) right now, because I physically can not shut up about it
It is hope and love and compassion that saves each character individually, and because of that, the world. Frodo fails in the end, but his acts of compassion from earlier in the story save the day. And even as the world is saved, it is acknowledged that Frodo failed—without judgement, without blame. He fails, and he is still loved.
And like what can happen in the real world, he is still irrevocably changed by his trauma. But there is still hope—he has to leave, but he leaves with the promise of healing, and the promise that his ever-faithful Sam will follow.
Aragorn, Boromir, Frodo, Sam; each and every one of the characters are driven by their love of the people around them and their hope for the future. They cling to that love and hope throughout their trials, and that bears them through.
Of course people are watching it for comfort!!!! Lotr is eternally consistent in its promise, which Sam articulates so clearly in The Two Towers: “Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines, it’ll shine out the clearer.”
Things are dark and awful and terrible, but it will not be that way forever. That is the promise of LOTR. A promise of hope, and the reminder that it is love and compassion—for our friends, for our families, for the strangers we’ve never even met—that will save us in the end.
I just want to add, it’s not just that The Lord of the Rings rejects grimdark and gritty fantasy - The Lord of the Rings is the original. Grimdark is what you get when you reject the bright half of the eucatastrophe.
Right wing manipulation tactics explained
this is an epic exposure of how propaganda functions.
Always worth watching, even if you've seen it before, bc its a great refresher for how propagandists like Kirk work.
