if someone is talking about how much they love their parents do not jump in and start venting about your issues with your parents. if someone is venting about their issues with their parents do not jump in and start talking about how much you love your parents. peace and love amen swag city
sometimes i think i have nothing in common with my younger self but then i remember the way i carry hope like a whisper. how i keep looking for the extraordinary in the quiet corners of my day. how i still feel every little thing too much.

Fun fact! The god Vishnu is probably the most famous hindu god and, according to hindu texts, he would stalk women as they were bathing and then steal their clothes.
Only after the women begged him would he return their clothes and let them dress themselves and leave. Of course men made lots of art about this beautiful event.
It's funny how male gods act exactly like male humans isn't it? What lesson are hindu women supposed to take from this? Well the metropolitan museum has a perfectly good explanation: "Krishna, the mischievous Divine Cowherd, has stolen the clothes of the bathing gopis, who shiver with cold but also with delight in their devotion to their lord. This splendid allegory of spiritual love-" excuse me what? the splendid what? lol Krishna is Vishnu in case you're wondering, he's an avatar of Vishnu kind of like Jesus is the avatar of God etc. Anyway, the museum details: "it recounts his playful theft of the clothes of the female cowherds, the gopis, who had left their clothes on the Yamuna River bank while bathing. Krishna placed them high in the branches of a tree, in which he is seen perched, daring the gopis to venture from the water. Metaphorically, this story serves to convey the power of devotion, to stand vulnerable before one’s God, secure in the power of bhakti, the unquestioning devotion to one’s god." ah it's not a creepy story it's just like if you love god and you're a woman you need to show him your body and beg him for your clothes and stuff. Makes sense.
Still according to hinduism, humans were created by the god Brahma.
Brahma was a pervert "in love" with his own daughter, the goddess Śatarūpā. She tried to run from him so he grew several heads and arms to reach her no matter where she tried to hide. He grew four heads to look at her from every cardinal direction, she couldn't escape his gaze. He's a buddhist idol still represented with his 4 heads and arms for better stalking.
Fun facts all around... I love religions.
Amazing how when telling the story of Brahma and Shatrupa you didn’t mention that Lord Shiva severed Brahma’s head to free him from maya??
It is at this critical juncture that Shiva, the destroyer, intervenes. By severing Brahma’s fifth head, Shiva destroys the world of Maya created by the deluded ego within us. This act symbolizes the liberation from the bonds of ignorance and the realization of true enlightenment. Amazing how in your bid to represent Hinduism as perverted you failed to mention the most critical part of the story.
You represent half stories from a religion and claim what?? That the religion is perverted?
Did the scripture justify anywhere the deed of brahma or did it end with Shiva destroying Brahma’s head? His attachment to his creation?
It is said that Shiva admonished Brahma for his "unholy" behavior towards Shatarupa and chopped off his fifth head as punishment. Brahma had given into the cravings of the flesh and abandoned the work of the soul and for this Shiva's curse was that people should not worship Brahma.
The story also goes on to say that Brahma has been continually reciting the four Vedas ever since as a form of repentance, one from each of his four heads.
Also the story of Brahma is not to be taken literally, it represents the attachment man has towards creation and shiva cutting off Brahma’s head symbolises liberation from this attachment.
Now the story of Lord Krishna that you used to represent him as a pervert is also half truth.
Lord Krishna was less than 10 years old when that episode happened and he stole the clothes of the gopis to teach them a lesson that they shouldn’t bathe in the pond naked.
And I fail to see you show the story of how lord Krishna saved so many women from disgrace? How he married the disgraced women who asked him to marry them and restore their honour in society?
How he saved Draupadi from being disrobed in the Kuru Sabha?
But then why would you tell these stories when it’s so easy to spin half assed narratives about religious figures and religions which you have zero knowledge about. Lol
An addition to this☝
The stories told in the Puranas often have deep philosophical and spiritual meaning and hence need to be analyzed properly. These events are told to educate people on various topics. In Hinduism we have the four vedas: Rigved, Yajurved, Samveda and the Atharvaved, but not everyone has the capacity to understand the Vedas and we need a Guru to properly study them. And thus to help this situation we have the Puranas. The Puranas have important philosophical and spiritual lessons from the Vedas which are conveyed in the form of metaphorical stories so everyone can progress in their spiritual growth even if they don't have the time or mental capacity to study the Vedas. Puranas also consist of mantras, stotrams, saharanams of different Gods and godessess. They also contain events of Shri Hari's different avatars, his devotees, events involving Lord Shiva and Adi Parashakti in her myriad forms which helps us connect with the divine.
Events mentioned in the Puranas are supposed to be analyzed deeply and derive important lessons from them otherwise you are only taking in half the knowledge provided.
Leelas of Shri Krishna:
The Leelas of lord Krishna are not even meant to be discussed like this but when has anyone cared to pay attention to the rules and actually respecting the traditional values of Hindus but whatever. These events in our darling Kanha's life are to be meditated upon by devotees so we can develop a closer bond with him. When Shri Krishna stole the clothes of the gopis he was barely 10 years old and the people who are trying to make this event seem perverted are sick in the head. Even this event has multiple interpretations.
1st interpretation: when the gopis were performing the Katyayani vrat to obtain Kanha as their husband they were bathing naked in Yamuna, which is a holy river. This act shows disrespect to the river goddess and to educate them on the said topic Shri Krishna stole their clothes.
Second interpretation (spiritual perspective) : This event also demonstrates the oneness of God and all the living beings. The gopis who were in love with Shri Krishna, although considered as highest devotees still had one blemish at the time, which is their identification of themselves with their material bodies which is also a form of false ego and thus a hurdle in the process of spiritual developement therefore Shri Krishna stole their clothes to make them realise that their true self is not the physical body but the unblemished soul which is within the said body.
Extract from: The Complete Life of Shri Krishna by Vanamali.
Like mentioned above by @rhysaka why don't these sick people who make such events in the life of 10 year old Kanha seem perverted ever mention how he saved the honor of thousands of queens, how he saved draupadi when she was being disrobed in an open court. But again I don't really expect these people to actually try to read and interpret our texts.
Brahma, Shatrupa and Lord Shiva:
When Brahma got infatuated by his own creation (Shatrupa) he started following her and Shatrupa being disturbed by this tried to flee the scene. When Brahma grew a fifth head, Lord Shiva came to know about the situation and enraged, took a ferocious form and severed the fifth head of Brahma. Till now Bhairav (ferocious form of lord Shiva) is called the protector of women. It's actually easier for women to worship Bhairav comparitively to men as he is incredibly protective of women and keeps them away from harm. This event also shows that worst of punishments are meant for men who go against a maiden's wishes and must be punished no matter who or how powerful that man is. (Not to mention this story clearly heavily condemns Brahma's actions to the point he deserved one of his heads to be severed by Lord Shiva himself.)
Spiritual Interpretation: This story is not to be taken literally. The events in the story represent how even the greatest of souls get entangled in Maya (illusion) due to their own false perception of reality. Brahma represents the deluded soul who is entangled in Maya (illusion). His birth from Shri Vishnu's navel signifies the souls entry into the material world and getting bounded by ignorance. This is also to say even though we are all part of God himself we get entangled in Maya due to our own ignorance regarding the true nature of the soul.
To all the Non Hindus who don't know enough about the subject and how different types of scriptures are to be interpreted differently (like how one interprets Puranas is different from how one interprets the Vedas, dharmashastras, itihasa and agamas) kindly refrain from making posts like the original poster here just for the sake on hating on our religion. It does nothing but display your own ignorance about the said topic for the whole world to see. If you guys are is interested in making posts on Hinduism try to actually read and understand our texts instead of yapping about something you have no real knowledge about. May Shri Krishna and Lord Shiva take you closer to the truth.
such a beautiful leela is so misunderstood but when you think of it, it captures the essence of surrender so well.
nothing is hidden from the Lord. you could cover yourself from yourself, hide from everything but not Him for He’s so close to you, closer than your own skin. the rasa of this leela is of God craving for the devotee to drop all false garbs and bashfulness and come to His lotus feet completely vulnerable and naked.
blessed are the gopis of Brija who are viewed by and yearned to be looked upon by the Lotus-eyed Madhava in their purest most vulnerable state.
