These Valentine's Popcorn Balls are a delightful and festive treat to enjoy with your loved ones. They are easy to make and perfect for sharing during the Valentine's season.
Ingredients: 10 cups popped popcorn. 1/2 cup granulated sugar. 1/2 cup light corn syrup. 1/4 cup unsalted butter. 1/4 teaspoon salt. 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract. Red food coloring. Heart-shaped sprinkles or red candies optional.
Instructions: In a large bowl, place the popped popcorn. Remove any unpopped kernels. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar, corn syrup, butter, and salt. Stir until the mixture comes to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 4-5 minutes without stirring. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and a few drops of red food coloring until desired color is reached. Pour the hot syrup over the popcorn and mix until evenly coated. Let the mixture cool slightly until it can be handled. Using greased hands, shape the coated popcorn into balls. Press firmly to ensure they hold their shape. If desired, decorate with heart-shaped sprinkles or red candies while the mixture is still warm. Allow the popcorn balls to cool and set completely before serving.
