Ingredients: 1 lb ground beef. 4 hamburger buns. 4 slices of cheddar cheese. 8 slices of bacon. 1/4 cup bourbon. 1/4 cup ketchup. 2 tablespoons brown sugar. 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce. 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard. Salt and pepper to taste. Lettuce, tomato, and onions for garnish.
Instructions: In a pan over medium heat, cook the bacon until it gets crispy. Take it off and let it dry on paper towels. Remove most of the bacon grease from the same pan, leaving behind about 1 tablespoon. Add the bourbon to the pan and cook for a few minutes, scraping the bottom to get rid of any brown bits. The ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard should all be mixed in. Let the sauce cook for 5 to 7 minutes, until it gets thicker. Take it off the heat. Set your grill or griddle on the stove to medium-high heat to get it ready. Add salt and pepper to the ground beef and shape it into 4 patties while the grill heats up. For medium-rare, grill the burger patties for about 4 to 5 minutes on each side. You can cook them longer if you like them more done. Add a slice of cheddar cheese to each patty in the last minute of cooking. On the grill, toast the hamburger buns until they are just barely golden. Start by putting a lettuce leaf on the bottom bun. Then add a burger patty with melted cheese, two slices of bacon, and slices of tomato and onion. Spread a lot of the homemade bacon bourbon sauce on top, then put the top bun on top. Enjoy your tasty Bacon Bourbon Burger while it's still hot!
