Despite the immense joy that has filled our hearts and the delight we feel at the arrival of this new member of our family, we are deeply saddened by the situation of this child and how she will grow up and live her life in Gaza, which is facing genocide.

Gaza is not safe, and this child was born in the worst place in the world. It's not her fault that she's a child who doesn't understand or feel anything, but she was born in Gaza. This is not easy at all. Here, formula, diapers, and all baby supplies are incredibly expensive, even more so than food and drink, due to their scarcity.

I implore you to support me, my family, and this beautiful child who survived a genocide. Please give this child a gift; consider her one of your own. She deserves it just like any other child in the world. Please donate now.

My grandma just called and, among other things, said “You have hips. That’s good! Men like hips!” and then she interrupted herself to say “Women like hips. People of your preferred gender like hips. I can never remember”  And I was like “Thanks grandma! My preferred gender is none of them, no thanks.” and she was like “Okay, no one will comment on your hips!” very self satisfied, like “aha, I have figured it out” I think like half her grandkids are some variety of not-straight and she can’t always remember which is which but she is the epitome of like “she’s a little confused, but she’s got the spirit!”

You are not "ruining" anyone's fun for demanding better for yourself, and anyone who says otherwise can go fuck themselves. Any fandom worth being a part of should have no room for racism in it.

Quite fitting that my top surgery consultation would fall on the first day of Pride Month. It’s in less than an hour now, but I don’t think I’ll be going with the surgeon I was referred to. The place my primary works at isn’t contracted with where I want to go or I guess any other big hospital that could have providers experienced in trans surgeries, so I was referred to someone very local within my city. I’ve heard good things about him from a couple of people I know irl, but apparently while he has done mastectomies, he’s never done them for trans patients before. The receptionist to his office was very nice and gender-affirming, though, so at least there’s that. I’m going to see if maybe I can get a referral to who I actually want to see from the surgeon. I am still slightly open to the possibility of getting top surgery from him (since it might just be easier and, again, I’ve heard good things), but that’s a BIG if. After all, mastectomies for breast cancer and trans mastectomies are kind of different ball parks. But, you know, at least I’m getting somewhere in my top surgery journey. I think. Hoping to get it done before my 26th birthday this December🤞

Guess I’ll liveblog this a little. I just got in and they took my blood pressure. The lady who took it was the same nice lady on the phone, so that was cool. She asked me, out of personal curiosity, how long I’d been on my medical transition journey for. I don’t mind being asked questions like that, so I was happy to answer. She also said she has a lot of trans friends. She was very friendly and helped me feel comfortable. She said she would leave the vest thing just in case the surgeon would want to do a chest examination, but that he might not do one. Which😬 did not make me feel like he’s too knowledgeable on the subject of top surgery. I said I’d prefer that he did do an examination, so hopefully he will. Not that I want a man examining my chesticles, but you gotta do what you gotta do, I suppose. Now I just gotta wait for him to finish up a surgery somewhere else and then skedaddle on over here for my consultation.

Just got home a bit ago. So, the surgeon said that I don’t have enough skin to get rid of my nipples and get my scars where I want them to be (under the pectorals) unless they use extenders, and that’s more of a plastic surgeon thing (which he is not). I asked to get a plastic surgeon’s opinion on it and to hopefully get referred to where I wanted to go originally. They’ll send a request to my primary for the referral, but idk if they’ll be able to do that for me since they’re apparently not contracted with where I want to go for my surgery. I did, however, send a message to The Center in Palm Springs bc a friend of mine was telling me the other night that they may be able to help me get the referral I want. Also, as for the surgery cost, I guess I’ll have to call insurance to see how much copay will be if the surgery gets accepted. I’m really hoping things turn out okay and that I don’t run out of time… I think I might contact my friend and ask him some stuff.

Called the place I want to get top surgery at (like my friend suggested) and they set up a chart for me and sent a message to the assistant of my desired surgeon about scheduling a top surgery consultation! Yippee! Now I just have to figure out if insurance will cover it and, if not, what I can do to ensure it does. I’m sure the assistant will likely be able to help with any steps I might need to take. But anyway, I’m happy now! Big win for me, it feels like. And at the beginning of Pride Month, too :D
