my favorite adrian headcanon that's not sad: they love the eridian equivalent of those cheesy airport romance novels. except once rocky comes back and the general populace gets wind of the adrian/rocky love story, the penelope-esque lover-that-waited character is EVERYWHERE. downright inescapable. and adrian is just sitting there fucking fuming. the fun stories are all gone and now they're stuck with shitty retelling after shitty retelling of the past 60-70 years of their own fucking LIFE and rocky is absolutely laughing his ass off at his poor mate's plight.
you can pry starting sentences with 'and' or 'but' out of my cold, dead hands
op how does it feel to be the most correct person on earth
I would give an arm and maybe a leg to see the PHM characters in your artstyle (no pressure)

(links // tip jar!)
I spent the afternoon arranging our books by size and color (and it’s so satisfying and looks amazing) and my partner came home and stared in shock at the bookcase and then said “i’m a librarian, you can’t do this.”
him: you split up all the song of ice and fire books
me: yeah i know, they’re all primary colors, it’s perfect
him: [self-destructs]
You’re a monster
As a former bookstore employee, this hurts my soul. I mean, sure it looks nice, but how do you find anything?
it has occurred me during this process that apparently not everyone thinks about books by what color they are? like, literally when i’m looking for a book, i picture it in my mind. i have a very…tactile experience with the books i read and idk! i thought everyone did that lol.
my partner was like “how will i find [this book] for instance” and i replied “easy, it’s purple” and he looked at me like i was a witch.
OP your brain is neat and I love you for it you funky little color-coded cupcake. But you’re still a monster.
This actually is interesting in terms of information-seeking behavior, which is a thing librarians think about a lot and often actually study (some library jobs require you to publish, and academic librarians, for instance, will often use the students at the college they work at to study how they search for information in order to figure out how to best provide them services).
When you go for an MLS (Master’s of Library Science, which is a thing, and which is usually required for “professional-level” library work [which is also a weird and contentious concept that I won’t go into here]), one of the things you study is the organization of information. This deals with how to determine what a book or other material is “about"—a concept we tongue-in-cheek call “aboutness"—and how to convey that to a potential user of the item and make it easy for them to find. Things like keywords and subject headings, do I put this book about how often wild birds attack aerial drones in with books about birds or with books about technology, if its a fictional novel do I put fantasy in it’s own section or mix it in with all of the other fiction, so on and so on.
OP is organizing books by how they would look for them. OP’s partner is thinking in terms of aboutness. This is a system that works for OP because it’s their personal library: they know basically what books they own and they only own books that are relevant to them, and if they know what the book looks like, that can be a quick way to find it.
In a library that assumes the public (or people who do not own that particular collection of books) are using the collection, that doesn’t work. Books are often re-issued in multiple covers, or re-bound in new covers when they get worn out, and if the user doesn’t know what the book looks like or is expecting a different cover, they’re lost. That’s why non-personal libraries used standardized cataloging systems like the Dewey Decimal System or Library of Congress System to organize a book by what it’s “about”, and then put books about the same or similar topics together, marked with labels and signage so a person unfamiliar with the book or collection can find their way to it.
Basically, OP’s system works for their own personal library, because it’s best suited to how the primary user—OP themselves—looks for books. OP’s librarian partner is coming from a background of thinking in terms of a public-facing collection, where aboutness is the key criteria and communicating it to a user unfamiliar with the collection is the priority.
And also, OP is a monster.
I have long said that colour and size should be part of books’ metadata, because these are things that people do in fact use to remember / find books - witness the meme of "I can’t remember the author or the title or the subject, but the cover was blue”
Also OP is a monster.

Go! Rocky, Go!
My favourite Adrian headcanon is that they're a biologist/zoologist who has seen so much shit, they're completely unphased by any and every alien habit of Grace's.
I mean full-on khaki-shorts-wearing, traversing-wilderness-with-nothin'-but-a-machete Adrian who yoinks snakes outta trees and pets swamp puppies and will unflinchingly dig around in elephant faeces for signs of a rare parasitic tapeworm if needed.
Oh, humans eat socially? No problem, Adrian has observed many many animals eat. Did you know that an obscure species of small underground dirt creature from the north side of Erid also eats socially? Adrian can give you a not-so-short presentation on them.
Oh, the human has no external carapace and so its internal sounds are absurdly loud, wet and off-putting? No problem, Adrian was just conducting an expedition last month researching the incredible eridian animal, the Wet Loud Worm from the south-east region of Wet Loud Wormland. They're desensitised, it's fine.
Oh, Grace leaks often from many orifices and it can be a bit of a learning curve to get used to? No problem for Adrian, see Wet Loud Worm paragraph again!
Meanwhile, Rocky is bewildered as to how he's managed to third-wheel both of his relationships, because both Adrian and Grace are nerds who nerd out about things, and Adrian is shaking in their carapace with enthusiasm to learn more about human culture and biology, not to mention everything about earth animals. And yeah, sure, Grace might be a molecular biologist, but he'll be damned if he'll pass up an opportunity to learn about alien fauna from a fellow scientist, and yes, Adrian, he'd love to hear about the small underground dirt creature from the north side of Erid, and he's so excited to learn more about the Wet Loud Worm, do go on.
Come dance with me

Time to add Ezra to the Poster collection!
Hey. Why isn’t the moon landing a national holiday in the US. Isn’t that fucked up? Does anyone else think that’s absurd?
It was a huge milestone of scientific and technological advancement. (Plus, at the time, politically significant). Humanity went to space! We set foot on a celestial body that was not earth for the first time in human history! That’s a big deal! I’ve never thought about it before but now that I have, it’s ridiculous to me that that’s not part of our everyday lives and the public consciousness anymore. Why don’t we have a public holiday and a family barbecue about it. Why have I never seen the original broadcast of the moon landing? It should be all over the news every year!
It’s July 20th. That’s the day of the moon landing. Next year is going to be the 54th anniversary. I’m ordering astronaut shaped cookie cutters on Etsy and I’m going to have a goddamn potluck. You’re all invited.
Hey. Hey. Tumblr. Ides of March ppl. We can do this
Hell yeah moon holiday
Ooh coming up we should celebrate
PITCH: We call it Moon Day, and then every 7 years when it falls on a Monday, that's an even BIGGER deal and we call that Moon Day Monday and go absolutely apeshit about it (the next Moon Day Monday is in 2026 so we have a couple trial runs first)
MOON DAY MOON DAY MOON DAY
moon day is 20th July!!!
Scheduling this a day earlier to remind you all and myself about the Moon Day tomorow!
Happy moon day to all who celebrate
This is your reminder to prep for Moon Day on July 20th.
MOON DAY MONDAY THIS MONTH NOT A DRILL!!!!!
Something something phm portal crossover ✍️✍️✍️
Role swap AU where Regina Anne enters the dungeon with her ex's former bomb-sniffing military dog Carl. The dungeon here has a high heels/women stepping on men fetish so she instead has to do the dungeon in glittery 6 inch stripper platforms while Carl goes and bites peoples faces off.
Also shes like 19 so Carl is still wiser and comes up with most of the plans lmao
OKAY I'm curious

i know that there's a real chicken and egg situation with tookas vs. loth-cats and while i doubt disney cares enough to ever settle it, i've been thinking about it a bit
in my opinion, tooka are a domesticated species of loth-cat that was then spread across the galaxy.
for starters, loth-cats are wild. they're shown in nature in rebels, and supplementary media talks about their behaviour in a way that makes them seem like wild animals as opposed to feral. they seem like wild animals and aren't shown in a context of being domesticated pets*.
they also biologically match other fauna on lothal. they have the same bird-like feet as loth-wolves. this again points to them sharing a common ancestor at some ancient point. it seems to be a common element the same way paw pads are among groups of real world mammals.
they're also shown in the art of the ancient lothali indigenous groups. it's not impossible that they were simply introduced to lothal by another group (we know ancient lothalite's had contact with jedi) but the way it's depicted in this scene seems to place it alongside loth-wolves and loth-bats, which are both native animals to lothal.
to me it makes the most sense to imagine the first colonists to lothal encountering these animals, liking their appearance, and deciding to bring them with them to other planets (i don't think it's farfetched to imagine them being brought on export ships off of lothal to keep vermin out of produce), in the process domesticating them into household pets. i feel like the bright appearance of the tooka lends itself more to the idea of selective breeding for a coat pattern than the wild browns of the loth-cat. the idea of the reverse happening - tooka being brought to lothal and then thrown aside to the point they go from feral to full wild - just seems like a more convoluted idea. so occams razor applies.
*apart from in ahsoka, but by the point of that shows creation disney had thrown any distinction between loth-cat and tooka out the window so i'm choosing to ignore it. if you want you could imagine murley as being a wild loth-cat that sabine tamed. not an unrealistic idea for her
